Take the blame for what? I don't think it's uncommon for someone to own a weapon in FL. Did he think Casey knew where the gun was and didn't want something to "happen" so he called LE to get it?

I also think owning a weapon is no big deal. However having it hidden in your spare tire is odd. And having law enforcement come to get it at 4am is odder.

If Grampa wanted the gun away from Casey he could have taken it somewhere himself, dropped it off at the police station the next morning.......not called 911 to come and get it at 4am.

HE called them?? I was under the impressio that they just came by and took it.... anyone know? This just gets wierder ad wierder by the second!

One condition of Casey coming home was that no weapons were allowed in the house at all.

And why the heck would it be in the spare tire?!?? Thats just wierd - so cool that the cops foud it though!

From just reading briefly on WS, it seems like they didn't just "find" it, they were told by George where it was.

You're right.........I'm just assuming he called them.

I'm only assuming because I can't imagine that LE would allow Casey to go back to a home that has a gun, therefore maybe they didn't know about the gun. Grampa realized she could get in trouble and called them to come get it??????

Just grasping at straws really.

My grand-baby lived with us the 1st 5yrs of her life. When my daughter put her in daycare or had a babysitter I had to meet them and know just how to reach them. As I watched the videos on 20/20 I remember how I was that devoted to my grand-baby and I would not have just let it go with my daughter just taking her anywhere. Cindy was not concerned about meeting this so called nanny or even know who, where or how to reach her. It is impossible for me to believe she doesn't know what happened to Caylee.

okay not to take the Anthony side, My family has no idea who watch my kids.

And I'm just assuming that he would't call 911 at 4am, and that they came to the house themselves, but with this family - WHO KNOWS!!!
I could see George realizing that he could get in trouble for the gun and calling - I just would think that he would wait till at least 8am, and also take the gun out of the tire to give it to them, KWIM?
Who knows - stinks that its Saturday and no NG - We'll have to rely on my Florida Dissers!!!

My parents dont meet any future sitters I hire, and I wouldn't expect the Anthony's to have done that either. That being said, I am sure Casey has not told her attorney any more than she has told anyone else. At this point, there is no way for them to charge her with anything. If she had agreed to the immunity and led them to a body, they could have still charged her with something ( I forget how it worked exactly but she would not have got off ). No body, no witness to take her down, no case. We had a case here that ended up in a conviction & death penalty -Thomas Capano - and they never found Ann Marie Fahey's body, but his brother fessed up to helping get rid of the body.

I have a sinking feeling that Casey isn't going to get the same punishment, and that's unfortunate.

Yes, but do you live with your parents? I think it's weird because Casey and Caylee live with her parents and according to everyone Cindy took care of Caylee alot, so you'd think she'd know the nanny, maybe had to pick up or drop Caylee off at some point, or something.

I agree with you on this one. I never had a sitter or a Nanny but if I did, I am sure my family wouldn't know them. Of course, I would give them names and such but they would have no interest in meeting them. :confused3

Cindy is the one that lured us all into this case with her 911 call. She had our sympathy, our compassion, our support, when we heard the terror in her voice. Her granddaugher was missing and she was not taking any more gump from her daughter. She was hell bent on turning in her daughter who has been giving her hell for ages, even if it meant she had to lie about the car being stolen in order to get the police over there. We were practically cheering her on.

We all waited on baited breath hoping this grandmother would find out what was going on and get her sweet little grandchild back. Then Cindy's personality changed completely. She was now a pod person from the planet Delusion. With that change, she lost much compassion and sympathy from many. And the lies go on and on.

I think if "911 Cindy" was still around, people would be coming out in droves to search for Caylee and giving the Anthony's all the support they need in locating her.

Where is 911 Cindy? Where did she go? If she came back to us, we might finally find Caylee so she can rest in peace. :sad2:

That is a very good point. I noticed a change in Cindy, too, which leads me to believe that she did not know what happened to Caylee at first, but somewhere along the line, she found out. It completely changed her focus. Why won't she share that information with us? I think it'e because it's too late for Caylee and she knows it. Now she is all about saving poor, picked-on Casey.

You should call NG!

Thanks, well, I'm too chicken to call NG, but I did email.

Cindy is going to have to deal with the grief eventually. As much as she drives me nuts with backing up her daughter's lies, when I am certain Cindy knows Casey is responsible for Caylee's death, deep down I do feel bad for
Cindy, because she will, at some point, need to accept the death of Caylee and go through the grief. When all the little trick or treaters are out at Halloween, Cindy will have to think about Caylee. I can't even imagine Christmas. Caylee's toys are all over that house. Cindy sees all this every day. It's a sad and crazy situation.

Great point. My parents may not personally know each person that watches my children. However, if we all lived together (including my parents) and a member of our family was gone A MONTH, you'd think they'd be a little more concerned.
A day, ok. I'll give them a day. Maybe Casey could use the excuse "I need to work late tonight and early in the morning, so Caylee's just going to stay over night at the sitters". Then day 2 rolls around. Where's the baby? Was the excuse "oh, she's having such a fun time over at the sitters I told her she could stay one more day". Then it's day 3. Where's my granddaughter? The sitter excuse isn't flying so much anymore.
The days turn into a week. The weeks turn into a month.

I'm sorry. I know I've gone off on a different direction here. It just makes me so mad that these grandparents who say Caylee lived w/them did NOTHING for a whole month to find her. Even if Casey said she was living with a "babysitter". Didn't the grandparents want to call and talk to Caylee over the phone? Go and visit her at her "babysitters"?

IMO, if Caylee was living w/her grandparents at the time of her disapearance, and they waited one month after she disapeared before contacting LE, they are as guilty of neglect as Casey.
Please understand. I KNOW there are grandparents that don't talk to their grandchildren for a month. But not grandparents that have their grandchild LIVE WITH THEM.

Having weapons of any kind in the house is a violation of Casey's home confinement. Owning the gun isn't the problem. Casey can not be in a home with a gun, so if Casey is at the house...the gun has to go.

But in this case Casey and Caylee both lived in her parent's house. It is like a spouse not knowing who the 'nanny' was.

It doesn't shock me that she didn't meet her but not even knowing a name?

This child lived in their house and they didn't even know the name of the person who was supposed to be watching her while Casey was at work.

I'm sure my parents always knew my daycare providers names and while they never met them if push came to shove I bet they could track them down.

I have been following this story since the beginning, mostly keep up with this thread, but haven't posted yet since I'm always a bit behind and for the most part you all say what I'm thinking. These are details off the top of my head and in no particular order, that bug me. Maybe not a big deal individually, but put them together and it just ain't right.

1) The Job. Casey supposedly had a job, but the family never called her there or received emails from work. Ok, maybe. What money did she live on? I can understand her parents helping her some financially, including free room and board to support the DGD they insisted she keep. Not being wealthy I would "assume" they would be counting on or aware of some of Casey's alleged income. Who did her taxes every year? Where does Casey's mail go? Who "claimed" Caylee as a dependent? I could go on..

2) The Nanny. I do think that as close as Cindy was to Caylee and as responsible for her as she claimed to be, (remember her comments about "raising her Angel" on my space?) that at least once she would have needed/ wanted to drop off or pick up Caylee from the nanny, even if just as a treat for Caylee. I do this sometimes for my little neighbor girl, who I adore!

3) Neither Casey or Cindy can give a plain, straight answer. They talk in the most convoluted manner. This has bugged me from the begining and right away I sensed it was the liar's way. From both of them.

4) Their family needs to really go out and search!!! Come on....

5) Spend less time (Cindy and Casey) try to be celebrities. And Cindy, really, quit talking and quit disparaging the people that are trying to find your DGD

I'm sure there is more, but whew, I feel better saying all this. My DH thinks I'm paying way to much attention to this, especially watching NG on tv, but I feel pulled in to this situation. I hope they find her soon for closure for all!

Chiming in for the first time on this thread, but I have read the entire thing....

With everything that we know, go back and listen to again the first call from Casey to her mom in the jail right after she was arrested. Cindy sounds so much more concerned and even tells Casey how she's lied. It is also very chilling how Casey sounds on the phone too. All she cared about was talking to her boyfriend.:sad2:

Welcome,

Thank you for posting that. I listened to the entire conversation, and I am stunned by how many times Casey says "I" and "me" compared to how many times she mentions "Caylee" or "my daughter."

I wonder how the search today is going. I feel so bad for Tim Miller from Equusearch, you can tell his heart is truly in the right place in all this.

I totally agree. He has been very honest throughout this whole process.

I hear Jose Baez' wife accompanied him to the Anthony's house upon Casey's most recent release. Hmmmmm.... do you think it was the brownies? I bet Casey's sexy party pics didn't help either. ;)

Ok, I don't know why I posted that, maybe to just lighten my mood a bit because this whole case has me on a roller coaster of emotions when I think about little Caylee.

I heard the TES dog searchers said the search would go a lot easier if the Anthony's did not refuse to give the searchers an item of Caylee's for the dogs to track. Unbelievable! Despite that, Tim Miller thinks they are getting close to finding Caylee. Everyone but the Anthony's will be happy about that.

But technically, the gun was not in the 'home' - unless in FL your vehicle is considered part of your 'home'? :confused3

Maybe they thought someone else knew the gun was there and it would become a threat to them or Casey....

Are you kidding me?? And she is on tv acting like it's everyone else's fault they can't find this baby? Unbelievable.
