Please list your AKV room number!

We also stayed in 5205 1BR.

I do have a question Lisa, are these rooms considered Savannah View cat? It seems strange when looking at the marked map all the villas to the immediate left of our room are value cat. I just had a thought...they probably smaller right?
Yes your room is a Savanna View room. The rooms you saw to the left (along the Ostrich trail) are about 3 to 3-1/2 feet shorter which is what makes them Value rooms.

The way you can tell is if the balcony of that room lines up with the balconies of the rooms below it then it's a Value room. If the balcony overhangs the one below by 3-4 feet it's a Savanna View or Standard View (depending upon whether it faces a savanna or the pool area).

Thank you Lisa. We had a room switch at check in & I wanted to make sure we were put in the category that we had booked.

1 BR...I'll try to remember to walk to the end tomorrow and get the GV number. The view would be okay if they hadn't cut off half of the savannah to store construction equipment...blah...still like the room interior though.

Lisa - the GV at the end of our hallway from our room 5265 is room 5284.

Thanks!! I really appreciate this!

I figure we're not going to get many reports from people staying in a GV, so I think this is the only way I'm going to get these room numbers.

Back in April, we were in 2BR value L/O 5134/5136. 5136 is the 1BR. (By inference, 5130 is also a 1BR then). 5136 is the last room on the savanna side of the Ostrich trail. The connecting door between 5134 and 5136 is in the middle of the wall, between the kitchen table and living room TV.

I don't understand this...what you mean by the balcony?

I'm giving this a bump to see if we can get some more responses. It would be particularly helpful if anyone has information for rooms that are on either end of one of the building segments or for rooms located along one of the "spurs" on the outside of the horseshoe or any room numbers for the GVs. I need the room number, size/type of room (studio, dedicated studio, 1BR, 2BR, GV), and on which side of the hallway the room was located. If you stayed in a 2BR I need to know which room number goes with the studio portion and which goes with the 1BR portion.

This information will be used to make a better Jambo House map and will be shared with tjkraz of dvcnews.com for a searchable room database. (Want to know how many Value studios there are? or how many HA rooms have a savanna view? The database will make it very easy to find the answer to those questions!)

Thanks again to all who have responded. So far I have information about the following rooms:
5020, 5026
5124, 5131, 5134
5208, 5209, 5210, 5212, 5214, 5221, 5223
5319, 5329, 5377
5401, 5408, 5410, 5412, 5414,5425, 5429, 5435, 5436, 5437, 5469, 5471
5502, 5525, 5531
6201, 6202, 6205, 6206, 6209
6401, 6405, 6406

Hi Lisa! We are at AKV's right now and are staying in a 2 BR concierge room. I see 6401 listed above, that is the studio portion of our 2 BR. 6402 is the 1 BR side. It is not a handicapped accessible room, has a normal layout and it is a pool view. Our rooms are the first set of rooms, closest to the elevators and concierge lounge. Any other questions?

Thanks!! I really appreciate this!

Lisa,

I took a slew of pics of some GV doors when I was out there in January....

I couldn't tell you which door was where (on the trails) but it might give you a jumping off point, at least.

I'll see if I can dig them up over the next day or so and post them here.

I know the room number range for each building segment containing a GV so I just need to know which number was assigned. You don't need to post the photos -- just a list of the GV numbers would be very helpful! I can figure out which number goes with each GV.

I have two so far: 5284 (end of the first spur off the Kudu trail) and 5483 (end of the first spur off the Zebra trail). I don't have the numbers for the four GVs furthest from the lobby, located in the segments with these room number ranges (the GVs will have a number at the end of the range):

5341-5366
5371-5395
5541-5566
5571-5596

Did you take photos of any other room doors/numbers or just the GVs? In all of the building segments that contain GVs there are more room numbers than there are room bays, so it's a challenge trying to figure out which numbers are not used. So if you have any other room numbers in your photos, just knowing that those numbers are in use could be helpful to solving this puzzle!

Just our door and the GV's.

I think I have pics of the GV at the FAR end of Zebra trail (the one you mention you don't have), the one at the end of the 2nd spur of Zebra trail, and the one at the end of the first spur of zebra trail (near the pool) that you mention already having..

I MIGHT have snapped pics of the one at the VERY end of Kudo trail, and at the end of both those spurs. I know I walked down that way, and checked out the doors/shields but I can't remember if I snapped pics or not.

My DW is going to pull out the DVD with the pics on it today and we'll take a look tonight.

5577
Studio with Savannah view in Zebra Trail (great view, no construction)

5429 - 5431 2 Bedroom Lockoff
Zebra Trail, Great Arusha Savanna View
5429 - Studio with broom closet, two sinks
5431 - Handicap 1 Bedroom, no roll in tub, no island in kitchen

One night at:
5220 - 5222 2 Bedroom lockoff
Kudu Trail, POOR Sunset Savanna view
5222 - Studio, two sinks, no broom closet
5220 - 1 Bedroom

5228 is a one bed sunset savannah view on the spur. AWFUL view!!!

Area directly below room is concrete parking area for cranes. Yes you can see the savannah and a FEW animals past the fence but at the present time I do not believe this room should be classed as SV.

Changed after our first night to 5471 1bed SV Uzima spur. Great location and great view. Spent 14 nights in this room, just got off the plane in Belfast this morning. Loads of animal activity including the baby giraffe and a pair of nesting cranes.

Will try to post photos later

Marie

If you have to two at the end of the Zebra trail, that would be great. DISboarder "Alexander" walked the whole of the Kudu trail last week and got all of the GV room numbers on that side for me. So those last two GVs on the Zebra trail are the only ones I don't have.

I'm heading over there tonight to get the rest!

Our dedicated savanna studios for this week were 5356 sunset savanna, horrible view of the barn and people pen. On the plus side, you couldn't see Kidani construction as we were on the backside of the last little spur.

Our request to be moved was granted after the first night and we have 5239 dedicated savanna studio on the arusha savanna. Much better I must say! I can't believe we were using the same number of points for such different views!

5004

One bedroom value on the Giraffe trail. Coming from the elevators first room on the left.

View of the roof of Boma. But a great room!

Room 6401.

It is a pool-view, concierge-level studio located next to the ice machine and public bathroom. It's the first villa on the right as you look from the concierge area.

We were in this room June 1 - 9. I think it's the best room location EVER!!!! Very convienent to EVERYTHING, especially the concierge lounge.
