Thanks so much for posting this! I couldn't believe my eyes or ears this morning when I saw Dr. Nancy Snyderman on Good Morning America, recommending that women STOP doing SBE! Is she crazy?!?!? My own sister found the lump in her breast, 3 years ago, which turned out to be cancer. This was within THREE months of her most recent mammogram AND exam by her doctor!!!! She is alive today because SHE found the lump herself.

I am so glad you are well and coming up to 5 years!!

P.S. I don't understand why they would TELL women to stop doing these exams. They're simple, free, etc. They are invaluable IN ADDITION to mammograms and exams by doctors.

I think that report does a disservice to woman by playing down the importance of self-exam. Look how many lumps are found by BSE!

I am going to the doctor for my anual next week and I will be asking him to send me for a mammogram ( first one in my life and I'm 39 ) and I will not take no for an answer. My friend just had one and they found a benign tumor, she cannot even feel it but she will have it removed. Also today I don't know if you watched Oprah, they showed how Breast Cancer affects people of all ages not just over 40 , I have done several SBE's myself and haven't found anything unusual but I will still keep doing it regardless of the news this morning.
Congratulations on your upcoming 5 year aniversary!!!
