Good? You mean crazy right?:rolleyes1

For those of you who have been to Beaches N Cream how hard is it going to be to get a big group in there? I'm wondering if it's not the best idea for lunch. Maybe we should do an 11:00 lunch somewhere else then hit Beaches around 3:00 for dessert?

Monica, B&C is very small. There are a couple of booths along the side that maybe would seat 6, probably only 4 though. Then there are a few tables that are also pretty small--only would seat 4 and the chairs are those "tiny" soda fountain type of chairs. I don't know if they push them together or not, there's only about 3 tables in the center of the room. There's also maybe 6 stools at the counter.

Allears has a whole bunch of pictures Monica. It looks plenty big WHEN IT HAS NO PEOPLE IN IT! :rotfl2: The pictures are of a completely empty restaurant!

I'm thinking going AT 11:00 and trying to get seated together (we can consider the Kitchen Sink as "lunch" right?) but then also having a back up plan with an ADR somewhere for lunch in case we can't get in at B&C.

Then we could try back at 3:00 or so if we couldn't get in earlier.

What time did you say you would probably have to head to the airport, Monica?

Sara

Sara I had to go over there and check out the pics after you posted about them. There are a few more counter seats than I recall but the rest is pretty accurate, a few booths and a few tiny tables in the middle with those itty bitty uncomfortable soda shop chairs (sat in them in January when I had lunch there).

Yes, it never looks like that when it's open and there are people in there. It's one of those places that it's hard to predict crowd levels. Usually, if it's cold outside, it's not so hard to get in (I think we waited about 20 min in Jan for a table) but if it's hot outside, there will be a long line. We ate here once before our Jan lunch, it was a hot September, and we had a pretty long wait.

Monica, maybe make an ADR for somewhere on the boardwalk or at one of the cafes at Beach Club or Yacht Club (I think Sunday is still planned as a non-park day for some, right?) that can be used as PlanB if Beaches & Cream is too crowded. That we everyone isn't running from Point A to Point B in case Beaches & Cream is too crowded.

Are we really going to want to eat lunch and a big ice cream at the same time? I would prefer to eat a big meal closer to 2:30 because I won't get to eat again til who knows when. My plane doesn't land in Cincy til 8:00. Maybe we should go back to our original plan of going to Beaches on Sat for kitchen sink 11:00. Then doing a nice lunch on Sunday. I think this is my preference.

Sara, my plane leaves at 5:55.

Okay... did y'all see the ticket prices for the MVMCP??? 55 bucks! That is up about $15.00 from last year. It's not gonna stop me, but it makes me mad!

YAY!! I hope we can work something out, Roxanne! Of course I trust you!
I know you do. ;)

Ooo, Roxanne, Cirque will be so nice for your anniversary! Were you guys there last year for your anniversary too? I know you went in December, just wasn't sure when. :confused3 We will definitely call and try to meet up!

No kidney stones this trip, right? :sad2: Has he had anymore since then? My step-dad just had one the other day - he gets them like crazy!

Sara
We were there last year for our anniversary too. We lpve spending it there. We've never been to Cirque before though.

Steve swears he is going get a scan before this trip - but no more stones since then.

We'll be at Epcot on Saturday and just hoppin around of Sun. We're eating lunch at Beaches N Cream. Maybe you could join us there. We'll share the kitchen sink with ya!

I will be making up a schedule and cell phone list for everyone so I can add you to that and give you one.

This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait to strap on that moose hat and hit the world with my friends!
I think we'll be eating at a cs in Epcot on Sat. but we will be arriving around 10 or so, therefore I am not sure what time that'll be.

You are so good! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Roxanne - I sure hope you can meet up with us at some point on Saturday or Sunday! Where will you be staying this time?
I haven't made the ressies yet but we plan on staying at ASM

I too think it may be too hard to get our group in to Beaches & Cream for lunch. An 11:00 ice-cream stop there souns perfect. And if we do that on Saturday there are plenty of places for snacks in WS to hold us over until dinner.

OK - so now the question is - where do we want to eat on Sunday?

oooh we get to pick another place :scratchin

I vote for Kona! :goodvibes I've never eaten at the Poly! Sounds yummy too!

Sara

OOO! I can load up on Lapu Lapus before I get on the plane!!!:lmao: I'll go check out the menu.

Hmmm.... you might be on to something. Maybe I could reconsider flying if I could do it completely intoxicated! Might take the edge off, no? :confused3

:lmao:

Sara

I know we're not really breakfast eaters but do we want to do a breakfast somewhere on the Boardwalk and then a late lunch somewhere else? Maybe at the Poly?

Kimmy, do you know what the discounts will be on those party tickets yet? That's a pretty steep increase. Almost as bad as airfare increases.

Roxanne, you will love that Cirque show. I've been to it 3 times and I think it's wonderful.

Sara, drinking does help when flying. Problem is that they don't serve girlie drinks on the plane. If you're going to drink, you have to drink the hard stuff, like rum and coke, or have a beer. Ick. But before we flew out of JFK to Italy, I had 2 drinks at the airport to help me out. 11 hours is a long flight. Kimmy, I made it about 9 hours but finally did have to use the dang bathroom on that plane.

Pakey, I have not heard a thing about discounts. Monica, I do not know very much about that rest at the Boardwalk, but I'm willing to try anything new. It doesn't really matter where we go to me at all. A lot of you are MUCH pickier eaters then me.

I hear ya! I should have tried that when I took that awful flight to France a few years ago! I can't do beer, but I can deal with Rum and Diet Coke! Instead, on that flight, I tried 2 doses of Benadryl and a dose of Tylenol PM before Shawn and I left DC to fly to Paris, and even then, I couldn't fall asleep! Shawn was snoring away, and I was like this:

Unfortunately, I get real "chatty" when I drink, so I might talk someone's ear off on the plane if I drank too much! :hyper2:

Sara, I couldn't sleep either. I even took a sleeping pill after my 2 drinks and never fell asleep. Mo and I were the only non-Italians on our flight (we flew into Milan, not a big tourist destination), I couldn't understand a word anyone was saying and I was so tense. I swore that my next trip to Europe I was going to fly first class so that I could get a little sleeping chamber but we're going to Paris in September and flying coach. I'm thinking about getting some of those Bose headphones to see if that helps.

I think most everyone on our plane going to France was definitely American - so I didn't have that issue to worry about; however, coming home we had quite a different story.

We were seated on two seats on the side in coach (2 seats on each side of the plane, and 5 in the middle, so 9 total). Two European guys (they sounded French, but IDK) sat behind us. About 30 minutes after taking off, the flight attendant noticed they weren't responding to her. I peeked through the crack between the seats and was horrified to see one of them with snot hanging out of his nose all the way down his face and his eyes as red as blood (no kidding). The other guy was slumped against the window not responsive. Shawn had just gotten up to use the bathroom so I was all alone. When he came out of the bathroom, he thought something had happened to me because all of these people were huddled around our seats!

I just looked at him with a terrified expression. They were using my seat for some kind of oxygen tank thingy and I had moved over to Shawn's window seat - they weren't letting Shawn come back at that time. I was very scared, as you just don't know what some people are capable of when they are obviously high on something. (It was later determined that they had dissolved some kind of drug in their water bottle, prior to leaving France, and then took it on the plane with them). I thought, what if they pull a weapon out or what if they just try and fight back at anyone trying to help them.

Finally, Shawn flagged someone down and asked if they could move me out of there as I was kind of freaking out! :scared1:

On the positive side, they moved us up to business class!  Seriously, that was sa-weet! They didn't make us move back either once the situation was under control. We ended up turning around over the ocean, and heading back where we eventually landed in London, the police and medics boarded the plane and took the guys off on stretchers, and then searched their bags (Of course, because we were sitting in front of them, our bags were next to theirs! Shawn said they probably hid the drugs in our bags and they would take us off the plane too. Luckily, that didn't happen) Once they refueled the plane, and unloaded the meals, reloaded new meals, we were off again. Yuck!

Seriously though, I had no idea that where we were sitting WASN'T first class - it was so nice! Our seats could lay all the way back in a full recline and not even come close to hitting the seat in front. The TV's were much bigger, the food amazing - Shawn had rack of lamb, for pete's sake - and they even spread out little cloths over our teeny, tiny, tray tables!

I did actually get some shut-eye on the way home being in business class. Plus, I think I was just plum worn out from all the drama and fear! :sad1:
