Please!!! Info on new Pirate Restaurant???

Okay, I just registered for DISboards just so I can give insight into this rumored pirate restaurant. While I was on my CP in 2007, I worked in MK in QSFB and our territory included Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square. After I left, they were to combine with the group who takes care of Toontown, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland. The reason? To free up the kitchen where the old Adventureland Verandah used to be, so that a new restaurant could be built. Never heard the exact details, but it was rumored to be a Pirate themed restaurant. Again, this was about a year ago, and to be honest I'm not sure if they ever actually moved, but at least I can tell you all how this rumor (or truth) likely got started.

BTW, you can't book T-Rex through Disney Dining, you will have to book it directly with T-Rex, just like you do for Rainforest Cafe.

I booked Rainforest through Disney DIning for Nov. It is the one at AK, not the one at DTD. Is that the difference?

I would love to have a pirate themed restaurants w/ or w/o characters. My 4 yr old DS loves the classic characters and lilo & stitch but he would love to eat somewhere that's got pirates or at least a pirate theme.

The pirate restaurant is just a rumor. There has been talk for quite some time on the DIS about how many people would love a restaurant such as this.

As much as I love the princess meals (hey, I'm a girly-girl) I think that there needs to be more there for boys besides the classic characters at meal times.

Here's to hoping that Disney finally starts listening to their patrons and does something we'd like to see.

I don't know if there is a difference with booking, I don't remember how I booked RFC at AK, but I do know I NEVER will again, the one at DTD is much better. You do have to book the one at DTD at a different number, a direct number.

oh how I wish this rumor would be true!!! I am so disappointed that WDW took away character dining at LTT because it was as close to a "boys" meal as I can get at WDW and we loved it - My little boys would LOVE a pirate themed restuarant and we would be first in line for a pirate makeover!!!!!!

come on Disney and listen to the families with boys and give us pirates!! (by March 2009 please! lol):thumbsup2

Yes, that is the difference...The one at AK can booked through Disney dining...The one at DTD requires a direct call...Both currently book at 180 days out...Both do not except the dining plan.

There is definitely construction of something going on in Adventure Land along the path that leads to Splash Mountain. It is all boarded-up, but has been for a while. That would be fantastic if the rumors are true! Just one more reason that we would have to go back next year! :woohoo:

You'll have to beat us there! :lmao:

I have wished for years that they would have some type of character meal that would appeal to boys. Since they are taking away LTT that only leaves Pooh or Princess meals in MK. :confused3

Yeah we noticed that too! We tried to take a look but couldn't find a spot to look!!
And there was NOTHING going at at that Pirate y parote or whatever it is called- it was the same as always no construction. And that would be too small anyway I think.
Oh please be true please be true.

This won't help anyone going to WDW, but, there is a pirate themed restaurant near Disneyland (actually it is just down the street from Knott's Berry Farm). Think "Medievil Times" with pirates. There is sword fighting and arial stunts, etc aboard a pirate ship while you eat. We enjoyed it when it first opened in Dec 2005. The restaurant is called Pirate's Dinner Adventure.

Lou Mongello of WDW Trivia and the WDW Radio Show podcast has mentioned this rumor several times over the past year, that a pirate-themed restaurant will be going into the old Adventureland Verandah space. He usually gets the right information waaaaaaaay ahead of time from cast members, so I think this rumor has some legs. Now as to when it will actually happen, that's anyone's guess!

It has been underconstruction for a while back over there. It was just kinda boarded over and that was our last trip in October.

Ok. This whole thing about a Pirate restaurant is ONLY A RUMOR. I have heard of it also on several threads, and on one of the rumor websites such as jimhill or screamscape.

The rumor is that a new pirate themed restaurant will open in Adventureland. There was talk that the restaurant might be named Tortuga. I also heard that they were talking about plans to change the Swiss family treehouse into a walkthrough of the Black Pearl. Remember....this is only a RUMOR.

Disney has not released any information on any of this at all and there are no official plans for it. They may or may not go ahead with it.

In my opinion, I think it would be a great idea especially with them getting rid of Garden Grill Lunch and Characters at Liberty tree and it would be even better if they get some characters in there too, like Captain Jack.

I love the idea of a pirate themed restaurant, but I think it should be at the Poly or CBR. What kind of pirate hangout would it be if you couldn't have a little rum to swig?:rotfl2:

Heck with the boys!;) My two girls would love this restaurant (so would their mom). My oldest would go in for a pirate makeover before a princess makeover any day! Keeping my fingers crossed that if it's true, it's open by December 6th!

I am not sure where the old Adventureland Veranda was... is the boarded up area someone recently posted consistent with this??

There would be more moms there than kids! :smokin: :faint:

(Points to avatar) pirate: Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adventureland Veranda is where the Lion King Characters do meet and greets in MK, and also inside there is where you can meet Jack Sparrow during the P&PP. If you go to Adventureland, and look at Aloha Isle you'll see a greenish CM door and the Veranda restaurant would have been to the right of that. The back of it rests against the smoking session in Liberty Square. It's a large building and the decor inside is still all intact, though definitely aged.
