I have posted, from time to time, along with a few pictures, about Vince's dog, Doc. When Vince moved out to be on his own, about 4 years ago, he acquired Doc, at the time, a two-month-old puppy Rottweiler. After a few months out, Vince thought it better to come home again (we did too
) and with him came Doc. Doc has been at home with us about 4 years now; we call him our 'grand dog'.
Well, anyway, Vince, apparently with his paramedic intuitiveness and knowledge, felt what he perceived to be some swollen lymph nodes in Doc's neck area and his back leg. Following up on his feelings, he brought Doc into the vet today for an exam. The vet palpated the lumps in both areas, and found a few more in his abdominal area. The vet did a hypo draw, to see if those lumps were actually infections or not, which they proved not to be.
The diagnosis is 'probably' lymphoma, with Doc having to go in on Monday for biopsies. If it proves to be lymphoma, and aggressive, the suggestion is to do nothing really, just comfort for the time. If not aggressive, possibly chemo of some sort, and hope.
I know we all have major things in our lives, health, jobs, families and otherwise. We know well in our own house the major worry that health concerns bring, what with Marie's very serious breast cancer of several years ago, my colon polyps of some time back. And I know how much we all feel the love for our furry family too here on the DIS. So, with that, just coming to our DIS family here, asking to keep Doc in your good thoughts and wishes, and if you pray, maybe include him, and Vince too, on your list of concerns prayed for.
As always, thanks for being here for us, for all of us.
Dan
