Got a call yesterday morning that the husband of my wife's best friend (they're like sisters) was medivaced to the hospital because of a stroke/aneurysm He's in surgery now and the drs said he has about 30 percent odds of pulling through. He's only 48. They have 3 boys (7,11 and 15). Not right.

UPDATE! Good news today! He's awake and alert. He's speaking and was asking for his wife (and he recognized my wife). He's a bit frustrated/agitated being tied to the bed (for his own safety). He's off the respirator too. Except for his one eye being a bit droopy, everything seems to be amazingly normal.

They're going after the other aneurysm early next week so he'll have to be sedated and go back on the respirator. Thanks so much for the prayers and kind thoughts.

:grouphug: Of course we'll pray for him, as well as his family and yours during these difficult times. Hopefully you'll be back to post soon that everything has gone well.

Will do.. I'll be praying he makes a full recovery.. The surgery is the "easy" part - it's how "well" he recovers that will determine whether he lives or dies -or how "much" of a recovery he will make..:(

The son-in-law of my dear, dear friend who passed away in November had a brain aneurism on June 9th.. He had emergency surgery - came through that okay - but it was all down hill from that point on due to additional strokes; blood clots; seizures; etc.. He's in a vegatative state now - has suffered numerous additional strokes as well as many other extremely serious medical issues since then - and has been deemed brain dead.. He's 35 - has a wife and two little girls, 12 and 7.. The neurosurgeon said if he had any idea that it was going to turn out like this, he never would have performed the surgery.. Now his wife is left to make a very heart wrenching decision - one she has yet been able to make..

Point being - keep those prayers coming long after the surgery is completed as there may be no "quick" fix.. I will keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.. What a horrible thing to happen just before Christmas - or any time for that matter..:(

Lots of prayers for him and his family. :grouphug: Please keep us updated.
