Could someone please ell me all about the crowds and weather during September. My DH and I plan on going either September 7th-10th or Sept. 28th-Oct. 1st. Which would be the better time to go as far as crowds and weather.

Thanks in advance

Debbie

The kids are back in school & the crowds are lighter but it is hurrican season.

I opted for Sept 9-15 but only because a work conflict (coworker going to Ireland) might have made for a sticky situation. Dh and I think that later is probably better, but we only guess that would be the case because tornados here in the middle work that way. The earlier in the season the more frequent!

I think it is just really luck of the draw!

We are going Sept. 8-16. Weather is fairly unpredictable both times, due to hurricane season. We went last year Oct. 1-8, found it somewhat crowded due to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, and MNSSHP at the MK. I understand Sept. crowds are light except for Labor Day weekend.

we usually go 1st 2 weeks in sept never had any problems with weather or crowds except labour day weekend :goodvibes

We went last Sept 11 through the 15th. The weather was hot especially around 2pm. That's when we'd leave the parks and go back to the resort for a swim. We'd hit the parks again after the sun went down. The crowds...there were none. We were staying at OKW and many times we were the only ones on the bus. We never waited in line for anything. We walked on to Soarin'. After Wishes at MK we walked right onto the bus. We couldn't believe how easy it was to get around. One of the CM's at SSR mentioned that the resorts were only at 26% capacity...

On our way home we our plane changed its flight plan slightly to avoid Hurricane Opal. We could see it churning out by the So. Carolina coast. Way too cool! :sunny:

Thanks everyone. It will only be our 2nd trip and without the kids  .
We are going to get the free dining and to get to do the things that we couldn't do last December because we had the kids. I think we will go earlier in September and pray for no hurricanes and not deathly hot weather and of course light crowds.

Anyone else with advice please chime in.

If you can push your travel dates out even further into October you can attend the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival which in itself is worth the trip to Disney! The food booths that are set up are wonderful... each with that country's signature dishes and alcoholic beverages... wines, beers, ales you name it. All in nice sample sizes, though you can buy full monty sized beers. There are free wine tasting seminars and beer seminars where you can taste all thise expensive wine for free! There are cooking demos and special dinners, wine paired with food and those are a blast to attend. Those aren't free but are fun. And who could miss the Australian wine walkabout?

Oh well, just food for thought. Sorry about the pun. Couldn't help myself!

There was a poll here listed yesterday asking what dates in Aug/Sept. you are going. You should be able to find it. Last week in Sept was the highest of the month, probably due to Food & Wine festival. I want to say the 1st week was the slowest, followed by the 2nd week..
