please I need help sending a message through twitter to AA

Im having an issue with american airlines concering an up grade that I wanted to do which got all messed up
I didnt realize it until I got the email from them--but by this time it was too late my CC was already charged
when I called AA to get back what I had--I natually got a credit for travel instead of a refund
even though the agent didnt tell me he changed our flight time going--and I did verifiey nothing changed
which he said no everything stayed the same--so I did not agree to the changes

so now Im trying to get AA to refund my CC someone on the transportation
board suggested that I send a message through AA twitter account
so I signed up for an account and was told to click on the envelope
which I did but nothing happend
where should I click to write my message

after I click on the envelope a screen comes up that the AA logo and a space for messages but I cant type anything in the box

Click on the darkened area at the very bottom (where it says start a message) to start typing your message.

What you could do is just send a tweet and tag them. Whatever their Twitter name is you can just add a @ to, and it should turn blue. Then you can send the tweet and wait for someone to respond. That’s a better way to get their attention.

Forgot to add, don’t put any personal information in the tweet. If they send you a direct message, they will ask for details. Never put banking info or personal info in a tweet.

The only reason I have a twitter account is because I had a problem with AA and got nowhere on the phone.

The people manning twitter were able to fix the issue. That was many years ago though.

great advice thanks so much however someone suggested adding @ to to tag them sorry but I have no clue about what this even is but Im willing to give it a try to get my money back
using the link above what do I add the @ to too if I click on the address line it does turn blue but what do I do after that

If you do not know what the @ does or how to use it, then Twitter probably is not the medium for you. I would ask someone to send the message for you.

Or maybe contact your CC company to dispute the charge?

If you aren't already familiar with Twitter, this is not the way to go.

Twitter is simply going to pass you off to a customer service agent by phone anyway.

Just call AA back and immediately ask to speak to a supervisor.
