Hi. Planning a trip for July 2013. Its either going to be the WL or BC. If anyone had any opinions or insights into this choice it would be really appreciated!

With AAA discount the BC is approximately $50 more per night. Standard room. Not a huge difference, but there are a bunch of us so the difference is about $1,100 for the group as a whole for the week of July 20-26 (different people are staying various lengths of time)

There's going to be 13 of us in 4 rooms w/ ages ranging from 2 - 65. One of the rooms will have 2 adults and 3 kids in it, with one of the kids a 2 yo in a pack n' play most likely.

Thanks in advance for any help, I'd love to book this ASAP.

We stayed at BC this past Jan. and LOVED it!!! :) The rooms were very nice as was the decor of the resort!! We love EPCOT and being able to walk there within 5 min. was wonderful. We've never stayed at WL, but have eaten there and it too looks very nice. WL is Pacific Northwest themed and BC is seaside themed. WL is wood and stone and BC is white and pastel!! As most people here will say, the pool at BC is the best anywhere at Disney and you also have the Boardwalk right out front!! We found the buses ran very well at BC and you can also take the boat to Hollywood Studios. Good luck with choosing-I love planning Disney trips!!:firefight

We've stayed at both and you really can't go wrong with either one as they are both great places to stay. With that said, if you will be spending alot of time at Epcot and/or DHS, the BC can't be beat for location as it's great being within walking distance to both parks :thumbsup2. Plus the rooms are a little larger than at the WL, which might be nice for the room(s) with 5. On the other hand, the WL is a beautiful resort and it's nice having the boat for going to MK, as well as to the CR where it's easy to hop on the monorail to visit the Poly and GF. I would look at the theme/decor of both resorts as well as decide which park(s) you will go to the most and choose that way. As I said, they are both awesome resorts, so you can't go wrong. Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

I agree, both are wonderful resorts. So it depends on where you are going to spend most of your time, MK or Epcot area. And which fits best with your budget.

I love the WL lobby, and the boat to MK. Walking trail to Ft W, watching the Electric Water Parade on the beach, the pretty grounds. And the resort boat to CR, connecting you to the monorail resorts, great for ADRs.

BC/YC has the best pool on wdw property, SAB! Also beautiful resorts, walking distance to 2 parks, and the Boardwalk restaurants, not to mention all the restaurants around World Showcase.

We have stayed at both and enjoyed both. We especially enjoyed BC because it was so easy to walk to Epcot and DHS. Pool at BC was wonderful but we didn't have a lot of time to enjoy it.

Thank you. I've visited both resorts but never stayed at either. The more I look into it, the more it seems that the BC might be a better option. The one downside is that we'll probably be at MK more than Epcot/DHS, but it's a busride away. Also, considering it's ging to be July, the pool is a big selling point.

Either or because BC reminds me of being on the beach during summertime, but Wilderness Lodge has a cozy feel to it.::yes::

Both are great. I would choose based upon how much time I was going to be spending at Magic Kingdom vs Epcot/HS. But you can't go wrong either way.

We are currently debating between these 2 hotels as well! I have only stayed at WL, but have visited both. Since we would be spending most of our time at MK, we will probably go with the WL. Plus, we are big campers, both tent and RV, and the WL fits our style! :)

Well the decision was made and BC it is!

Really good AAA discount - went from $375/nt down to $300. I was expecting 10%, but it was 20%.

I would HIGHLY recommend BC! :thumbsup2 July is a hot time at WDW and you will really appreciate Stormalong Bay during your trip. :goodvibes It has great things to offer all the different ages in your group. The little ones will love playing in the sand, older kids will love the slides and lazy river, even the more senior members of your family will love the atmosphere around the pool, lots of shade and good "people watching" spots. You are steps away from Epcot and a enjoyable boat ride from the Studios. The boardwalk area offers tons of nightlife, fun things for the kids, street performers, carnival games, arcades, movies on the beach, surrey bikes, boat rentals, the only slight negative is the bus to MK can be crowded early in the morning. If you are the type of people who likes to be at rope drop you'll want to allow plenty of extra travel time. We were just at the BC in August :) I have tons of pictures here: http://s59.beta.photobucket.com/user/ekmurphy12/library/Disney World August 2012

WL is also nice if you want a more rustic Pacific Northwest feel to your vacation. They have a lovely pool area, a boat to MK, great restaurants, and a beautiful lobby. :) I certainly can't say a bad thing about it, but I'm a huge fan of the BC, especially for a summer stay. :goodvibes

BEACH CLUB for sure!!! ESPECIALLY in July. Its hot as heck and you will enjoy the pool!!!
