Please help with the great Alamo rates everyone is getting

I am so confused. I have been reading the other Alamo rate thread and I just can not figure out how everyone is getting the great rates . We are also going in July for 10 days, so I don't know if that is my problem. Any of my rates are close to $300.00

I can't keep up with which codes are which. I don't want to do anything that could cause a problem when I get there. (use a Costco code since we are not members or try to use an Entertainment coupon that I don't have) So can you please explain to me, with as much detail as possible LOL what I should be trying.

Try using a combination of codes found on the transportation link at mousesavers if you don't want to chance the costco route(http://www.mousesavers.com/alamo.html). A lot of people were able to combine the walmart contract id and rate with a coupon to get a good deal.

Specifically: Rate Code BY and ID# 430710 or Rate Code BY and ID# 428448 and then try one of the printable coupons on the lower half of the page. (There's one for $25 off an SUV right now!)

And keep trying since you're still so far out. I'm guessing the rate lowering happens about a month or two before you go. Good luck!

It may pay to get an Entertainment Book. This time of year you can usually get them for $10. I'm using a $25 off/week Alamo coupon. We are going to have four adults, four large pieces of luggage and two sets of golf clubs. I booked a mid-size SUV (Chevy Equinox) two weeks ago for a week in May - total cost was $149. They say to keep checking so I did. We were going to be really scrunched in that vehicle to and from the airport but decided it was okay. I checked again yesterday and was able to get a standard SUV (Chevy Trailblazer for $139 - Equinox would have been $123). I booked the Trailblazer. Checked again just now and was able to get the Trailblazer for $118. The Trailblazer would have been $166 when I first booked the Equinox. That's a great saving and now we won't have to each have a piece of luggage on our laps. I'll check again tomorrow and the next day. . . It only takes a minute. I book each lower price I get and cancel the reservation I made before.
