I got two different answers from MS today. I called to extend a vacation next April/May. I'd already booked 7 nights at the 7 month window of the first night, and now wanted to add 2 nights for a total of 9 nights. I had enough points for the first night, but I'd have to borrow (from next year's UY at another resort) for the last night. The first CM wouldn't book either of the 2 nights, even though I had the points for the first extended night (8th night?). She told me to call tomorrow for #8, then the next day for #9. The nights are May 2 and May 3, leaving the 4th. Then I called back, and this time the CM booked the May 2 night, but told me to call back tomorrow for May 3rd. So, tomorrow or the next day, when am I supposed to call? And since this is an extension of an existing reservation, not a new reservation, why couldn't I book it? I asked for a manager to call me, just to clarify, but no word yet. I'm just confused, hopefully it will all work out.

Your 7 month booking window is from the day you depart Disney, not 7 months from the day you arrive. Today you were 7 months from the 1st extra nite, tomorrow you will be 7 months from the 2nd extra nite.

Not true. :goodvibes It's from your check in date. The OP can only book 7 days max when they call under the new rules. They will have to wait a day and call back for day 8 and wait a day and call back for day 9.

This doesn't make sense to me. The way I understand the new booking at this time you should be able to have a continuous reservation that starts at least on May 1st booked thru May 7th departing on May 8th.

It seems as though the CM's are partially following the old booking.

Here's the policy quoted from the member website and it clearly states you get 7 days from check-in at the 7 month mark also.

"The new reservation policy now offers Members the opportunity to place one single phone call to secure an entire Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation for as many as 7 nights, beginning on the first day of their booking window (which is 11 months before check-in at Members' Home Resort, or 7 months before check-in at other Disney Vacation Club Resorts). The previous policy required Members to call daily at the beginning of their booking window, piecing together their reservation one night at a time."

I'm sure it will all work out in the end but I don't think they followed the proper procedure.

This is how I understand it as well......so according to the booking the 7 month mark for May 2 and 3 would fall on 10/3 and 4. But on the other hand depending how the rule is interpretted it could be 7 days from April 27th and all the days could be booked. :confused3

Here's how I've interpreted the new rule, which I believe is consistent with the past few responses.

If you were booking two separate one-night reservations for May 2nd and 3rd, you could call MS on Oct 2nd and 3rd to book them. (3rd and 4th you suggest would be under the old rule based on check-out date vice the current rule based on check-in date.)

If you are calling to add nights to an existing reservation, you can add nights out to 7 months + 6 days from the date you're calling MS. (The same last night you'd be able to book if you were calling to book a new 7-night reservation.)

So, if the OP called on September 25th, they could book 7 nights at a non-home resort checking in April 25th, checking out May 2nd. On September 26th, they could have called again to extend the reservation by one night, adding the night of May 2nd. They could have then called again on September 27th to add the night of May 3rd.

If they were to call today (October 2nd), they could book a reservation starting on April 25th all the way through October 9th. Of course, they'd have lost some advantage in snatching up rooms before they disappeared.
