This is our first trip to WDW and my husband and I want to make some really cool memories for my Down Syndrome brother. He is 26 years old but is a big kid like all of us :cool1: ! What would be some tips for getting him involved in the Sword and the Stone ceremony? Also I had heard that audience members can be picked to be a part of the Indiana Jones show, is this true? :confused3 And if so anyone have any tips on that? My brother is a HUGE fan of Indiana Jones and constantly wears the fedora hat.

Anyone have any other ideas that I might be missing. Thanks for replies :thumbsup2 !
We will be there from July 12 to 19 at the Pop Century. Look for us, we will be wearing Alien Green mickey heads and and my brother will be wearing an Indiana Jones hat. :dance3:
I have also posted this in Disney Tips and Disabilities forums.

In 2004 my DH was picked to be in the Indiana Jones show. Before the show starts a CM comes out and talks to the crowd. She asks for people to yell real loud... my DH stood up and SCREAMED!!!... he got picked!

I think its great that you want to get your brother involved in the shows. Before the show starts talk to someone that is working on the "set". Let them know what a big fan your brother is and explain to them that this would make his dreams come true. Usually there is a guy sitting in the audience w/ a "loud/bright" shirt on.. He is the decoy actor.. maybe if you find him you can sit next to him and this way they will spot you out alot easier.

Also when you go to MGM, try and get to Millionaire early enough and ask them if you can get seats on the floor... :)
Have a great time planning and I hope your brother makes it in the show! :) :cheer2:

Check out the disability link at allearsnet.com..they have lots of helpful information! Taking my autistic grand-nephew in October (with his Mom, Dad, Baby brother, grandmother-my sister- and my other sister will join us)! It's so wonderful that he has a brother like you! I'm sure you'll both have a very magical vacation! Make sure you bring plenty of film/disc's to take all the pictures that you can share with him when you get home! Get an autograph book for him so he can get the autographs, and place the pic's you take with the autographs! (You could help him make a Disney vacation scrapbook when you get home! )

HAVE A GREAT VACATION, AND BE SURE TO POST A TRIP REPORT UPON YOUR RETURN!

I got picked for the Indy show, and read on these boards that you jump up and down and scream, so I sat near the front, and I did, and got picked right away. It was a blast, but I will tell you, I can't wait to go back and be the audience this time, because you do miss alot with the "coaching" going on while the show is going on. Not too much, but you don't get the same experience. So if he is a big fan, plan to see it twice...to live it once, and to watch it once :goodvibes One thing, he probably won't be able to wear his hat if he gets picked, he will be outfitted with another "costume", something resembling an egyptian shop keeper or villager. They already have Indy cast ;)

Thank you so much for all your ideas and I will be sure to talk to the Cms before the shows :thumbsup2 !
