Hi,
I am from Australia and have been lucky enough to visit both Disneyland California and Disneyworld Florida (I'm now a Disney addict!!) Hopefully soon Mum, Dad and my also Disney addict twin sister are planning a trip to England and I thought I might sneek a trip in to Disneyland Paris...YAY!!! Just wondering a few things.... Is DL Paris similar to the main theme parks in the US? Does it have the same ambience and a huge castle? Also, is Splash Mountain there and the new DW attraction called Soarin? I would love to take mum and dad on Soarin so I'm hoping it is in DL Paris!!! Any other info about the park would be great!!! Thanks so much :earsgirl:

Hi and welcome to the DLP board!! As you've been to the California park I'm sure you'll find the Paris one very similar indeed to the Magic Kingdom in Anaheim. There is also a Studios park but much smaller than either of the 2 American ones. They are building a Tower of Terror but it's not due to open until 2007 (I think).
Does it have the same ambience and a huge castle?
It does have a wonderful ambience - like the other Magic Kingdoms and we even think it's better in some ways because it has a lot of influence from European fairytales and architecture. The castle is very beautiful too and has a gallery upstairs with beautiful stained glass windows and tapestries - oh and a dragon in the dungeon underneath the castle!!!
Also, is Splash Mountain there and the new DW attraction called Soarin? I would love to take mum and dad on Soarin so I'm hoping it is in DL Paris!!!
Sadly DLP has neither of those - yet!!
Any other info about the park would be great!!! Thanks so much :earsgirl:
DLP is a beautiful park. Try this website for lots of good info http://www.dlp.info/Guide/index.htm and this one for beautiful pictures http://www.photosmagiques.com
Do come back and ask as many questions as you like - we love to talk about DLP!!!!

Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful if Soarin' came to DLP!! I was at Epcot in October and Soarin is now my absolute all time favorite Disney attraction. I can't wait to experience it again (over and over) in April! But to stay on topic, even with the absence of Soarin and Splash, you and your family will love DLP - it has it's OWN charm and beauty and if you love the other parks, you will love these. As Diana said, Disneyland Park is the Magic Kingdom, basically, but I think it's better - better layout, more detail and just prettier... and the studios is nothing like the MGM park in Florida - it has attractions that you've never seen, PLUS it does have RnR. So you are in for a GREAT time - and I'll add my invitation to Diana's... more questions welcome! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi,

Sorry haven't been anywhere else but DLRP - so can't make any comparisons!!!! But I would really recommend Pirates of the Caribbean and Walts and Plaza Gardens tea parties.

Don't know what Soarin is????[pardon my ignorance]- when do you plan to visit?

Hi and welcome to the DLP DIS boards :wave2:
Although DLP is a more compact park you'll enjoy the European influence that are the orgins of many of the Disney films.
Have a look at the official site on www.disneylandparis.com
