Hi! My husband and I are planning a trip and he always wanted to stay at FQ. I have searched and cannot find what I am looking for. Forgive me if this has been answered, I am just not that computer smart.

We really want a quiet room and most importantly a NON-CONNECTING ROOM. It seems that every time I have requested connecting rooms we always have trouble getting them, but you know how it is when you don't want them... Anyway, I am looking for a map that shows all connecting and non-connecting rooms. We would like a top floor room also if that helps any. We are also thinking maybe a king bed, but I really don't want to spend a lot of $$ as it is not that important. I would very much appreciate any advice you can give. If you have stayed there, what are the most quiet rooms. We don't mind a long walk, it doesn't matter how far away we are from the food court, etc. I know FQ is a pretty small resort anyway.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much.

Have a great week-end everyone and
Enjoy The Magic!!

Last year we booked a standard but was given a river view at check-in
OMG it was so quiet. If you can spend the extra money, do it. We will.

My one solo stay was at the French Quarter, in building #4. I was on the top floor, and I'm almost positive I had a room without the connecting door. it was very quiet, yet close to the main building. The trip before that I was with my dad and we were in building #7. We were the 3rd floor in that building, and that location was very quiet as well. Though it was a longer walk to the bus stop and food court.

Keep in mind that the more requests you make, the less likely it is you are to get them all. If you ask for a quiet location without a connecting door on the top floor with a king bed you are asking for 4 different things. I would narrow it down to the 2 that are the most important, and have them noted on your reservation.

Thank you very much mamaha, jestocost and maxiesmom. I took a quick look at the link you gave me jestocost and it looks great. I will spend some time on it this week-end when I have some time. We never ask for more than one or two requests when we go to Disney so I think it will be top floor non-connecting for us. We've had some bad experiences with connecting doors so don't want to chance it. Looks great!!

Thanks again.

I hear you on the connecting doors. My sister and I took a girls trip to WDW and stayed at Coronado Springs. Some idiot in the next room decided to bang on the connecting door in the middle of the night. The first time it scared us, the second time I was mad and yelled at them to knock it off. It took a long time before I was willing to stay at CSR again, even though I know stuff like that can happen at any resort.

Thanks again. Taylor3297 thanks for the link. I will read everything this week-end. One of my favorite things to do, read and plan a Disney vacation!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

Were you able to get a non connecting room? I never thought about it till you mentioned it

I've stayed at POFQ twice in the last 12 months (May 2011 and Feb 2012). I always request a ground floor and have gotten them the last few times I've stayed at WDW and did so again those May and Feb trips. Both times we had a very quiet room that was not connecting. Last May we were in building 2 facing the fountain and in Feb we were in building 3 in that corner room right where the building makes a T, sort of facing the main building. If we stepped out of our room and turned right, we were again facing that same fountain.
