we will be bringing our travel trailer and vehicle as well as another vehicle with a boat to the Ft. wilderness campground, does the camoground accomadate extra vehicles and if so is there a fee? Or do i need to reserve another campsite to park my extra car and boat?

You are allowed your camper and tow vehicle at your site. Additional vehicles must be parked in the overflow lot for no additional fee. Are you aware you cannot use your boat at FW?

thank you for the reply. Yes I did know I couldn't use the boat it will just be with us on our trip. So will they allow boats to be parked in the overflow parking lot as well as cars? Thanks again!

There are alot of utility trailers parked there, so I don't think a boat will be an issue.

There was a boat there yesterday in the overflow lot, so I don't think you will have a problem, as long as they know it is there. :thumbsup2

You must go to the Outpost and they will issue a free parking permit for your other vehicle and the boat.

Also, if you disconnect the "other vehicle" from the boat, the boat will need it's own parking permit. They have special ones they give you in a Zip Bag with a cable tie to protect them from the weather.

If you don't mind, I'll hop on this with my question.

My college roommate and I are camping with our families the week after 4th of July. They will be driving down from MI, pulling their travel trailer. I will be driving over from Tampa with my van and tent camping. We are on the same site (6 people, one tt, one tent).

When we first made the arrangements, I thought they still had their old camper, which was attached to the TT. Which meant we'd have one RV, one vehicle and one tent. But now I found out they have traded up for a 23 foot pull behind TT. So we'd have two vehicles, a TT, and a tent. Does this mean we need to park one vehicle in the overflow lot?

I planned on driving most of the time, but there are times that my friends will be driving to the water parks, and we will be driving somewhere else, so having both vehicles on-site would be more convenient.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, one of the vehicles will have to be parked in the overflow lot. Only one vehicle allowed at your site at a time.

You will have to park the other vehicle in the overflow lot, and as stated above get the permit for it (you can also do this when you check in as well as at the Outpost)
We've done this on several occasions and never had any problems with any type of vehicle. It is more convenient to park by your site, but just takes a quick bike or bus ride down to retrieve the other vehicle. Several times we were able to plan so that if the one vehicle was leaving they would drop off the people in the other vehicle.

Thanks! I'll talk with my friend and figure out which one we'll leave. The only worry I have is that my DD 15 will probably want to sleep in our van. For some reason, she's been freaking out lately in the tent.

I hate to ask my friends to leave their truck out there though. Well, maybe my friends DS will want to sleep in the tent, and DD can take his bed in the travel trailer??
