Please help with a few questions

We are going into ROFR today. 200 pts at BVC, with 200 from last year. So, we will have 400 pts by the time we close (hopefully we make it through), should be sometime in early-mid April I'd guess?

My questions are, and I know this first one has been addressed but I couldn't find it:

1) How does the 7 month window work? Is it to the day, or just the month? If I want to book a week in November, say either 11/5 or 11/12, when does the 7 month window apply (I want to close before that window to get a room at BCV)....

2) I read somebody talking about forgetting to bank their points and nearly losing them. Does this mean that you have to call MS and notify them that you are not using them for a certain year or you lose them?

If you wanted to check-in on 11/5, your 11 month window would be 12/5 and the 7 month window would be 4/5.

These people called MS to try and get the once in a lifetime exception to be able to bank those points. If points are not used and not banked into the next use year, they will expire automatically.
 
Thanks, Michael. With regards to the second question, so you have to notify MS that you are banking? With a phone call? Sorry, I'm new to this.

Banking can be done by calling MS or on-line using the member website.
 

Yes, you must notify MS that you want to bank. It is not automatic. As mentioned, it can be done vis MS or online through the member site.

If you are planning on using banked points for a reservation, you need to make sure you bank first before you try to make it. It can be done in the same call, but MS will not automatically do that unless you tell them to.
