hello,

so I was wondering how far in advance to book our hotel??

we arrive Jan 21st. there is 2 rates for the hotel we are looking at $175/nt but you have to prepay the whole thing (not a problem but we would have to transfer monies around) or 209/nt for long term stay. (7 nights)

also

with two little ones (3&8) who are used to being in bed by 7pm. we will only go to one night show. We have never seen any of them. wondering should we do WOC, Fantasmic is there any others??

There are firework show at night, but it your hotel is close enough you can see them from there. Tough call on WOC or F! Have you seen any of them before? I'ld go for the one you haven't seen. They are both on youtube, you could get an idea of what to expect and make your choice based on that.

I always book a fully cancellable room as soon as I know I going. Then I keep an eye on rates and then cancel & rebook if the rates get lower, they usually don't.

If you are absolutely sure you are going and can afford the prepay price, that is what I would recommend. Otherwise, make the reservation and you can always change if the price drops.

As far as nighttime shows, I would actually recommend WoC because of your youngest. When my son was 3, Fantasmic! scared him. But all kids are different. Goofy Mom's suggestion of watching them on youtube is a good one.

I think Fantasmic is a lot better than WOC. F! has lots of the characters in it, and more of a story to it. Just my opinion, though! Lots of people seem to love WOC. We found it hard to get a good view at WOC, even after the special fastpass we got with our (pricey) dinner at Ariel's Grotto.

I say, take your littles ones back to your hotel for an afternoon nap so you don't have to pick just one night show.

I agree. Let them have some fun and be off schedule.

I couldn't believe when I took my DS to WDW that he was up until park closing at 1am. The latest I had seen him up since being an infant.

It was worth it 100%

For the last couple of weeks we have been "changing over to DL time" at our house. DS6 snuggles up with me and we watch a movie or nap when he gets home from school and pushing bedtime back a little at a time. the farther back bedtime went the less snuggle & watch movies and the more actual naps. By the time we get to DL on Christmas he will be able to see every nighttime delight at DL and we can nap at the hotel when the park is crazy mid day.
