We will be flying into Orlando the day before our cruise. What we are looking for is a hotel to stay overnight that has a shuttle from the airport and also a shuttle to Port Canaveral.

I'm sure this must be a common problem and I'm hoping that some of you have done this before.

TIA for your help !!

There are several hotels close to the airport with free shuttle from airport to hotel, including the Hyatt which is right inside MCO. There is the Radisson close to the Port which has a free shuttle over to the ship. You will need to find your own transport from the airport to the Port area, however. It is about a 45 min to an hour ride, and to my knowledge, there are no free shuttles that make the trip.

I have hired both Tiffany Town Car and Happy Limo for trips to the Port from the airport and WDW area. I have also rented a car at WDW and parked it at the Port for the duration of my 4 day cruise.

Last year, we stayed at the MCO Marriott with FF points. Their shuttle picked us up at the airport and we walked over to an area restaraunt for dinner.

The shuttle then took us back over to MCO in the a.m. and dropped us off at the DCL spot where we checked in and boarded the bus to the Poly. The Disney transfers worked just fine. We also took the bus from AK to the port once the "sea" portion of out trip began. The transfers also took us back to the airport when the cruise was done.

It worked out great and we are repeating the format in January, although we are starying at the HIlton Garden Inn this time. They also have a shuttle.

As CarolAnnK mentioned, there are no hotels that offer a complimentary shuttle between the hotel and the airport AND the hotel and the port. The cruise terminal is 47 miles away from the airport.

Depending on how early your arrival is, you may prefer to stay somewhere on the Space Coast and then have only the short drive to the cruise terminal in the morning. I have information about car rentals to the Space Coast (www.dcltribute.com/carhire) and lodging at the Space Coast (www.dcltribute.com/lodging) at my web site.

A visit to travelocity.com or expedia.com would produce a list of over a dozen hotels that are within two miles of the Orlando airport (MCO). All of these hotels offer complimentary shuttles to/from the airport but the shuttles for some of the smaller properties may not run after midnight. And the Hyatt, as CarolAnnK mentioned, is right inside the airport terminal, so no shuttle would be required. If your arrival will be rather late at night, you may prefer to stay near the airport instead. But then you'll need to figure out which mode of paid transportation you'll want to use to get to the cruise terminal in the morning.

As someone else mentioned...the Radisson is my choice to stay the night before a cruise. We are planning this for August 2nd. We are arriving into MCO from NY about 9:30 am and renting a car from Avis for 24 hours. We are driving to the Radisson at the Port and will use the car for the day/evening. In the morning we will drop off our luggage at the port and then return the car to Avis (right next to the Radisson). We will then take the Radisson/Avis complimentary shuttle to the ship (just over a mile away).

We we disembark the ship we will do the process in reverse. Take a shuttle to Radisson/Avis, pick up the car, pick up the luggage and passengers and then drive to WDW for the day. We will then drop off the car at airport before our flight home in the evening.

This worked great for us in the past and are looking forward to doing it again in August.

As an added benefit the Radisson is offering a rate of only $59 per night for the standard room until close to the end of the year.

Ever since 9/11, we have been flying in a night early and getting an MCO-area hotel from Hotwire or Priceline. We can usually get one for between $25 and $28, which includes a free shuttle from the airport and often breakfast too. We've stayed at the Amerisuites, LaQuinta, and Renaissance, to name a few! We have Happy Limo take us to the port in the morning. We are usually on a later flight, since we fly out after work, so I just don't feel like going to the Port Canaveral when we arrive. We like to just hop right into bed and leave early the next day.
