Please Help. What is Grad Night? Someone please explain this to me. Or tell me where I can learn what it is all about. We are going to CBR April 28-May 4 2007. I have heard on another thread that Grad Night was one (or both) of those weekends. What is Grad night? How does it affect the parks, resorts, etc.. Do they stay at a certain resort?? ANY, ANY info would be greatly appreciated. I am sooo confused on this one. :confused3 :confused3

GRAD NITE is a night that the parks are closed to the public and stay opened for bus loads of Graduates from High Schools. They usually have a bunch of bands playing etc..... but it is just an over night bus ride.

What are Grad Nites at the Magic Kingdom?

Grad Nites are special hard-ticketed private parties for graduating high school seniors, which begin at 10 p.m. and run until 4 a.m. The Magic Kingdom closes at 7 p.m. on those nights in order to set up for these parties.

Admission to Disney Grad Nite is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Senior class advisors should submit a completed application well in advance to reserve tickets for the night of their choice. Visit the official Disney Youth Programs site to learn more.

I don't think this impacts the resorts. Usually more for local area kids, although I am sure there are some that come in from all around. The MK is closed after hours for these kids. It's kinda an all nighter for the graduating kids. Shouldn't impact you too much unless you wanted to be in the MK on those nights. Just work your schedule around when the MK park is closed for the grads and you should be fine!

It is a big deal for Florida HS and HS in the South to come. My nieces came from TN and one from Georgia, their schools stayed at All Star, so yes some of the resorts are affected. The niece that lives in TN, is from a very large HS which had 700 in her graduating class so it was a very large group.

Its an all night drunk fest for every teen ager within driving distance..... Gets pretty ugly. I had my grad night there, best friend barfed all over the T cups and tried to fight me for spinning the cup too fast. I dont think that the resorts feel any effects though. I was never able to rent a room for the night and niether were my friends. Disney runs a pretty tight operation and things stay in check. MY friend was immediately escorted out and sobered up in the security building until we found him later that night. Damn, have I grown up!!!!!

We were there for Grad Nights this year. I didn't notice anything in the hotel (POR) but there were lots and lots of school groups in the parks. We had no touble with them, the ones we saw were polite and happy and having a good time. The only real issue was at AK. The combination of very large groups trying to travel together, narrow paths, high heat and the fact that the bridge from Asia to Dinoland was closed made for a nightmare in Asia. We left the park and went back to the hotel. Not the kids fault at all, just a crowded mess.

So are the kids in the park all day but then the park closes early and they get to stay? Is that how it works? How do you know what park they will be at?

The actual Grad Night is held at the Magic Kingdom. Many only come that night for the event at MK. Those that come from out of state might stay a couple of extra days and take in the other parks too.

Grad Night is special ticket event, held after the MK closes to regular guests.

I know that I am also hitting grad nights (the 20th and 21st) and then they are the next week (the 27th and 28th) according to the unnofficial guide. We knew about them when we booked, but since we have small children, we don't intend to be in MK late that Saturday. In fact, we plan on getting there as early as we can score an ADR prior to the opening. In the afternoon we'll go to Epcot.
