Please help we leave on Tues.! Regarding double reservations

My mom does not want to room with my sister and her kids now and it's getting complicated. One of my sister's kids has a lot of sleep problems and with my mom's health problems she needs a quiet place.

We ( dh and my two kids) are leaving tues. We have a reservation in dh's name for one night at CSR. Then we go to AOA LM for the rest of the week. This one is under my name. It just happened that way. Mom and sister come on weds. to aoa and the res. is in mom's name. Then we have another res. in another's family's member's name at aoa for sat.- tues. but relative is no longer coming so my mom could take this room. Or i can give our aoa room to my mom, add some more nights at csr for my family and take the missing relative's room for sat - tues. We really would like more nights at csr.

I know i need to change all the names but can it wait until i get there? I just feel like the cm's on the phone are going to mess this up. I would rather speak to someone at the desk at arrival. Will it be a problem if the csr is listing all of us for some of the same nights as the aoa one even though csr is in dh's name and aoa is in my name? We are not trying to do anything dishonest just trying to make this less complicated. Thanks if you are still reading this and can follow along. I hope it can be understood. BTW, there is no availibility at aoa and i'd like to avoid putting mom at pop by herself.

You can only check into a room if your name is already on that reservation. You definitely need to call ahead, it cannot wait until you are there.

Nope. You have to be listed on the room as a guest in order to check in for that room.

One trip I booked 2 rooms--one room for me and my parents, another room for my sis and her kids. When I checked in they wouldn't even give me her room number as I was not listed on the reservation.

It does not matter how you paid for it; Disney goes by lead person on the ressie. Lead person has to check-in.

A few years ago, my neighbors and I booked two rooms in order to celebrate her husband's return from Afghanistan. I knew it would be true, but the CM was very insistent that we book it under her name because if he did not come home for one reason or another, they would not be able to check-in. You cannot change the lead person on the ressie; it has to be re-booked.

I was in your position one year and I booked two rooms and everyone decided to back out. I was lucky it was more than 45 days out and I got my money back. Lesson learned. Never again.

Just so you're aware, CMs can no longer just do name changes. When the lead guest is changing they have to cancel and rebook the reservation.

As other PP's have pointed out, it is the lead guest's name which is of importance here. It sounds to me, like you have two rooms for your family (one at CSR in DH's name and one at AoA LM in your name). Could you call and upgrade from AoA LM to CSR so you can stay there the entire time at this without penalty - possibly. You will have to check in and then re-check in the next morning and possibly switch rooms.

Your mom is a lead guest on the AoA reservation, so she has a room. You will not be able to change the lead guest name on the room of your missing relative - in fact, you may lose the deposit on that room at this point if it's a room-only as you are within 5 days of checking in.

What it sounds like you actually REALLY need to do is find a room for your sister and her family at this point as your sister is not the lead guest on any reservation and your mom doesn't want her in HER room anymore.

You definitely need to call before getting there or someone will most likely end up with no room. You can't check into the room of the relative who isn't going anymore.

Thanks. I ended up cancelling the room for the missing relative. They would not let me change the name, they said it was for legal reasons. I was able to get the deposit back b/c it was for later in the week and more than 5 days out. My mom is going to just stay with my sister.
