Please help--Villa owner Misrepresented himself

You read my mind! I have actually been on site checking the exact items you are referring to. All I was really looking for was an alarm of some sort to go off while we were asleep if a door/window were to open. Could care less about our belongings while we're not there since we don't have anything valuable to take.

It would have been nice to just have all of this taken care of but it certainly won't ruin my vacation by any means.

Now that I have calmed down, I think it will be fine. It was the initial anger, irritation, disappoinment, mistrust.........know what I mean?

ps--starting to feel better. followed Brian's advice about smoothing things over and owner has volunteered to pick up the sensors for us if his management can't do it. Whew! Restores my faith in people!

That's funny because the house that we rented had a very high tech alarm system and we never activated it unless all of us were leaving the house.
We really did not feel the need to have it on.The areas these rental homes are in seem to be quite safe.No problems at all.

Every pool home we have rented in Orlando has had an alarm system. I would think owners would want the property protected since they don't live there and the places aren't always occupied - prime targets for crime.

Steve -- this has been our experience too, and the source of much frustration as we inadvertently set the darn things off every year!

Maps -- just chiming in to say how sorry I am that this has happened. You are handling it beautifully and I hope you and your family will have a fantastic vacation despite this snag!

OT but a funny story. We were in a pool home one trip and the alarm went off, and it was a darn loud one too. We spent 10 minutes trying to turn it off and the code wouldn't work. We finally called the management company and they had to send someone out. We all sat out by the pool until they came because it was deafening inside. Turned out there was a leak in the roof and water had been coming in and shorted out one of the smoke detectors.
