Going to Orlando mid-October. It will be myself, husband and 11 year old twins. We have done Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party a few times and are considering possibly attending HHN or Howl-O-Scream (Busch Gardens) this year instead. We are pass holders at both parks, so we get discounted passes.

We have not been to either event, so we are having difficulty assessing age-appropriateness. Is one better than the other for 11 year old kids? Maybe neither is recommended?

We greatly appreciate the advice. We have looked at many websites and You Tube videos, but it is difficult to get a real handle on either of these 2 parties/events.

HHN is not recommended for kids under 13 and even then it depends on the maturity and the kid.It is an adult-oriented atmosphere, gory, scary and IN YOUR FACE. They do not tone it down because kids are present .

Unless your kids like horror and real looking scary people and sets, with adults enjoying liquor, I'd not take kids to either park.

A few years ago, I went to Howl-o-Scream. I haven't been to HHN, but plan to go this year. The year I went to HOS I overheard a girl who was 13 or 14 call her parents from the bathroom. She was crying asking to be picked up because she was so scared. I thought the people in scare zones were more aggressive than the people at the haunted houses I've been to in Tennessee. I think 11 might be too young, but it might be different since they will be with you and their dad.
