Please Help us choose a romantic restaurant

Please can you recommend a romantic restaurant for my friend and her DH. I would like it very much for my friend and her husband to be able to go out for dinner for one night at WDW whilst they are on vacation with us from the UK this year. We are staying at SSR and would like them to get out for a night on their own without darling daughter and darling son.

We are down to two restaurants, either Portobello Yacht Club or California Grill.

Which would you recommend?

Please feel free to suggest other options if you think of something better, but not V&A.

My wife and I love BlueZoo. The service, the atmosphere, and the food are all very good. A great romantic evening for a couple.

Both Portobello Yacht Club or California Grill will have children around, but there is the abilty to watch Wishes from CG. Blue Zoo is great if they like seafood and more 'adult'. Citricos may also be worth looking at.

We LOVE CG and will be heading there again this summer. Watching the fireworks from the rooftop of the Contemporary is so magical (and it's great because you don't have to fight the MK crowds when it is over!) You can take your wine out on the roof with you and they'll hold your meal while you watch if you let them know ahead of time. We highly recommend it! Just make sure that you tell them you want to watch the fireworks during dinner when you make your ADR. They'll give you a time where it will mesh well for that night's fireworks display. ENJOY!

golly, i really liked le cellier but cg is starting to look like a "no-brainer"...

I'd recommend Portobello Yacht Club over California Grill. While there may be children around, we found significantly fewer children there than at California Grill. (It makes sense: The attraction to California Grill is the view of Wishes, while the attraction to Portobello Yacht Club is the separate Martini menu. ) It is a pretty hip place, in the Disney scheme of things, and probably a good choice for a romantic dinner.

Of the other restaurants, Citricos is a good choice. It isn't V&As, but that's a good thing, in my book. Again, the raucous element is attracted by the meals downstairs (1900 Park Fare, etc.), and there is nothing about Citricos that would especially attract children -- it's just incredible food and stupendous service.

California Grill is a favorite for me and my DH. The food is great, and if they can get a table on the window the view is fabulous. Both times we went there were a lot of children but we did not notice them. I would not say that CG is the most romantic atmosphere but it is a really nice restaurant and a fun night out without the kids. Also we find viewing the fireworks on the balcony really romantic.

We love Cali Grill! Dh and I always make and ADR here when at Disney. We usually bring our kids because DS is too small for kids club. We would love to eat here without kids. The food is the best and the atmosphere is great too especially if you can watch Wishes. Dh says it's a must do.

My husband and I love San Angel Inn. Very dark, A little loud, but we love the atmosphere. We visited Mexico a few times and it just reminds us of those trips. Food is excellent too (and margaritas!)
