We will be on the 4th of July cruise this year for the Magic and have a box of patriotic confetti sprayers (you twist the bottom and confetti streamer spray out of a long tube), that I would love to bring to share for the Sail-a-way. Does anyone know if these could be brought on the ship and can be used at the Sail-a-way. My concern is that they shoot out confetti and can be very messy.

Please HELP!

Bad idea.

You could make yourself very unpopular with not only the crew but others such as those who use "alternate" modes of getting around and would have to deal with the mess in ways you could only imagine. Best to stick to bubbles.

Hello,

I will be with you on the July 2nd West Coast Cruise and think that confetti sounds like it would be fun, however just to make sure that it is not frowned upon or downright forbidden I would suggest that you give a call to those nice folks over at DCL reservations (407) 566-7000 and ask them what the rules (if any) are.

As for the opinion regarding the mobility challenged as expressed above, I do think that this is a valid concern. Still, when I picture a ship sailing away I see confetti and streamers, silly hats and all the rest. Then again, maybe I just watched too much Love Boat as a kid...

My best advice would be to ask at reservations and then follow their recommendations. Oh, and if you are allowed to bring and use confetti or streamers aboard, you should be prepared to help clean up the ensuing mess. If they are allowed, and you do bring them, and I share in the celebration, I will be happy to help pick up the debris.

Hope this helps!

Take care,

Tisza

DCL shoots off streamers at the sailaway, but not sure how they would feel about passengers doing the same...best to check with DCL.

Disney shoots confetti at the sail away. If you locate yours where they do theirs, (over the pool deck) you can't make the problem for the moblity impared any worse, and DCL cleans up that area fast.

I have done a variety of things at sail a way. From bubbles, to "poppers" to confetti to streamers. No crew member EVER said a thing to me, and all any other passenger said was "where did you get those? I wish I had some"...my advice...bring what you want (within reason) and have a great time!

Regarding the cleanup, I don't think that DCL has to do very much of that. :) From what I have seen the guests snag up the streamers pretty quickly. We put some away from each show we went to for our scrapbooks. I know that I remember finding a few silver Mickey heads around the Christmas tree in the atrium at the beginning of our cruise. I found out where they came from on the last night and I was on the stairway right along with several others collecting more of them. :)
