Still waiting for my copy of the Unofficial Guide to arrive. In the meantime I'm using a chart which shows what days are best crowd-wise at each park.

Here are the details....Yes, it's a LOT we want to do. But we PROMISE to have naps in the afternoons ;)

We'll be going late August for 2 weeks, arriving on a Thursday at 5:30pm, staying offsite. We have FITS passes and Uni/IOA passes which are good for 5 consecutive days.

Hoping to have one character breakfast and a dinner at Rose & Crown. Would like to go to Kennedy Space Centre, water park(s) - which one? Editted to include We have a PS for CRT on Friday morning at 8:15. The Cm suggested that I make my PS for Rose & Crown, but my mind went blank because I was so blown away at getting CRT! LOL Now I have to call back!

Need to shop for school supplies/shoes/etc. Walmart will be so happy to see us at the checkout!! teehee But a nice mall would be great too.

Breakfasts will be at home, lunches are counter service and dinners mainly at home. Altho' one child has begged to go to Red Lobster. Don't ask me why! We live in the island of fancy restaurants so we don't mind going to what you all would consider run of the mill places. In fact our kids are thrilled by McD's and the like because we have NO fast food restaurants on this island. And I like it that way.:teeth:

Thank you all so much.:wave2:

We have a PS for CRT on Friday at 8:15, so will be going to MK on our second day. What park would YOU pick for your first day of holiday?

I would go to Epcot the first day. We ususally spend more than one day at Epcot and we find it's a good place to break up into different days. We stayed onsite though so it was easy to park hop with a stop back at the room.

Or, since you're getting in at 5:30, maybe go to Downtown Disney and look around. We did that on our first trip and I got a pretty good idea of what they sold there. If the kids wanted something in the parks and they sold it there, I waited to buy it (with a few small exceptions) until the end of the trip. I bought everything in one big trip and had it shipped home. One shipping charge, no packing. Not sure how much higher it would be for you to ship it home; they could probably tell you. Also, by the end of the trip, the kids didn't want some of the things they had asked for earlier. So, I bought less.

Also, you may want to leave MK in the afternoon and go and do your shopping. We usually go in November and I know that Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest.

We went to MGM on Saturday and that worked out well. The TOT line was really long though. Everything else was fine.

Thanks so much for replying MommyBoo!
We have a looooong day of travelling on our arrival day, so think it best if we force ourselves to rest. But as I write this I'm wondering if we should try to make it to see fireworks somewhere? Hmm, not sure, what do you think? One of the things to take into consideration is that our Universal passes are good for 5 consecutive days, so we cannot spread out Uni/IOA over too many days.
Here's what I have so far....

No, I would keep Wednesday the same. Get to know where you're staying and get set up with your supplies.

What about MGM for Thursday then? You can see fireworks that night at one of the parks. And are you going to one of the water parks? And maybe Disney Quest?

It's silly, but I really have my heart set on going to MK the first day. Something about seeing that castle I guess!

Epcot is a good suggestion though. How long does it take to enjoy Epcot excluding World Showcase, since we'll be there for dinner on the Monday? And on the day we are visiting the World Showcase and having dinner, what time should we plan on arriving at the park?

Or, how about going to MK on our first day, Thursday, and seeing everything except Fantasyland. Then visiting Fantasyland after our breakfast on Thursday? And then a break and another park?

Thanks

Get up and go to the MK on the first day! I can't do it any other way. It just does not seem ok to not..

You are not planning too much. Heck if your family is anything like mine they won't want to take a nap. As to us it was a waste of time to go all the way back to the hotel and then back to the park. So we usually just found a bench. Grabbed an ice cream and sat and people watched..

The Walmart by the airport in Orlando is less expensive than the one in Kissimee. I don't know why but pries on the same items can differ by about 2-3 dollars. Also it is a super walmart so you can buy groceries there also..

Make sure you see the fireworks at the MK. They are the best!!!

HAve fun and enjoy the trip!
