Hi-
I am attempting to get DINNER reservations in MK, can anyone PLEASE PLEASE point me to the right restaurants?

We have already tried Tony's (not a huge fan) and Cosmic Rays. We want more signature dining, OR a REALLY REALLY great quick-service meal (so no burgers, fries, pizza, or greasy junk).

I have a reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, but the reviews were pretty terrible.

Any suggestions???? PPPPPPLLLEEAAASE!!!! Help a hungry Disney-obsessed girl out!!!!! :surfweb:

:rockband:

I had lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and I rate it as one of the best places where I've eaten in WDW. I haven't tried dinner yet but it's on my agenda for my next solo trip.

Hop on the monorail and go to Kona Cafe at the Poly. It's one of our favorites. Also on the monorail is the Contemporary Resort, which has California Grill (signature) and The Wave. The Grand Floridian has several good restaurants- Narcoosee's, Victoria & Albert's, Citrico's. Unfortunately unless you want a character buffet at Crystal Palace (which we love, btw), there isn't a lot of choice in MK.

I don't love any of the Magic Kingdom restaurants for dinner. The Plaza is a great option, but it's definitely better for lunch.

As another poster wrote, the best solution is to take the monorail to one of the nearby resorts. All three have wonderful restaurants within 10 minutes of the park.

I agree about Tony's! I think the Liberty Tree for lunch is much better than at dinner.

I have never eaten at any of the resorts on the Monorail, but it looks like fun! Plus the reviews there are great. I wonder how long it would take to catch the monorail to eat lunch, round trip plus dining time? It seems it would cut in on "fun time." Do you leave the parks early? Maybe you could do a late lunch (like 2:45 or so) and a lighter dinner...just thinking out loud!:goodvibes

I too like the idea of catching the monorail to one of the resorts. If you want to have a quick meal may I suggest Gasparilla Grill and Games at GF. It's one of the nicer food courts and is frequently overlooked. What I like best about it is that they make the food to order (except some breakfast dishes). They are also open pretty late. Or you can take the boat over to the same resort. Actually since GG&G is accessed from outside, the boat maybe a little more convenient.

Here's their menu
Breakfast is 6:30 am - 11 am
Lunch and Dinner is 11 am - 11:30pm

You get your food from various stations set up in the Food Court area.
After selecting your items, go to the central cash registers to pay.

Bacon Double Cheeseburger $8.59
Reuben Hot Dog $7.79
Southwestern Chicken Sandwich $8.39

Chicken Breast Nuggets $7.69
Chicken Sandwich $8.39
Hot Dog $6.59

Roast Beef Sandwich $8.49
Italian Meat Sandwich $8.99
Jerk Chicken Sandwich $8.59

Chicken Caesar Salad $7.19
Fattoush Green Salad $5.99

Sandwiches served with cucumber salad or coleslaw

16" Cheese Pizza $13.99
Individual Pepperoni Pizza $6.29

The Italian Meat sandwich is one of our favs. When we are on DDP we will go here on our last day and get some sandwiches to eat on the plane. Yum! The also have a nice dessert selection inc. a soft serve, serve yourself ice cream as well as baked goods.

I highly recommend The Wave at the CR, you can hop on the monorail or just walk over. We love it ate there twice last year and have an ADR for this year!

Monorail to GF and you have a world of dining options!

I haven't been real impressed with the food *IN* the MK. When we want a good meal near there we usually jump on the monorail and eat at one of the resorts. We love Citricos at the GF. It is truly amazing if you really want a nice signature restaurant.

If you go to AllEars.Net, you can find menus for Disney restaurants.

my family loves crystal palace and we always eat there our first night it is a buffet but the food is pretty good and the characters are great its pooh piglet eyeore and tigger or like everyone else is suggesting hop on the monorail its really fun and fast so not a huge incovenince

Thank you so much for all the suggestions- :cheer2:

I am actually trying to avoid leaving the park. We are arriving at 4 pm and probably going to stay for the 10:30 parade. Like another poster stated, I don't want to cut into 'fun time' and have to leave the park, hop on the monorail, go to dinner, then go back on the monorail to the park.

Oh, and did I mention I'll be with DH, aka Sir Grump-A-Lot, aka Senior Crankypants???? :scared1:
So I am trying to make things easy.

We live in Manhattan, so I'm totally used to training it everywhere, I am just trying to avoid the 'commuting', as we do it everyday at home.

Ok, OK. I am going to have to suck it up and leave the park. Well, the upside is that some of the most AMAZING restaurants are at the resorts right next door. Looks like I may take my parents to O'hana (although I don't think I can get a resi!) or somewhere around there- we haven't been to the Wave or Citricos.

We have been to Whispering Canyon (fun place!), Narcoosee's (loved!), California Grill (still dreaming of their food!) and I think a few other places that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Alrighty then...I'm off to try and get some resi's for the night. Thank you!!!!
:dance3:

I thought the Wave was excellent and I bet you can get a reservation there. And you can even walk if you want vs. taking the monorail.

Just wanted to say if you can't get Ohanas try for Kona, the food was some of the best we had on our last trip as was the service !!

If you are going to leave the park - I will also suggest the Wave. It is our new favorite restaurant at WDW - We LOVE it! We also have liked Kona and GFC on the monorail line!

I'd forget all the TS options in MK and just go QS at Columbia Harbour House :)

You know the outpost out the side door of Pecos Bills/Taco place? Is has a DElicious chicken breast sandwich (horrible tiny bun). I hav e had it several times and always enjoy it. I have started eating organic meat since my last trip but I am considering eating this sandwich because it is so good.

Given that you don't have much time in the park I would just go with Columbia Harbour House. If you really would prefer TS I would say Crystal Palace in MK or Kona outside.
