Ohhh...this is gonna be FUN...I'm in a Disney Dreaming mood. But this isn't a dream!

My wife and I have booked a 5-night anniversary stay in August at the Swan in a regular room with the Teacher's Rate. For all our trips (see below), we've NEVER gotten a "special" accommodation...either a Suite or a Concierge room. I'd like to surprise her with a 1 night (or 2 nights, if we can swing it) "splurge" during our trip. Can you help me decide where and what?

Obviously, the "easiest" (and probably the least expensive) option would be a Suite at the Swan or Dolphin with a balcony and an Epcot view. But we've done split stays before and loved it every time. So, please suggest Concierge or Suite options beyond the Swan and Dolphin, at ANY Disney resort. I'd love to hear your experiences, what you know, and what you've heard.

Hey, the person who comes up with the best idea is invited along (naw, we're not into 3-somes, unless maybe if one of them is a Disney Character:rotfl: :lmao: )

Thanks in advance.

Go for a cottage suite at the Boardwalk Inn. They are two-story suites with private entrances, king bed, whirlpool tub and access to concierge.

Why not move over to CS or GF for a night and do a 1/2 or full spa treatment day? Not cheap, but possibly a nicer surprise even than a suite room.

Hmmm...we've never done the spa thing, but there's always a first time:)

The Honeymoon Suite at the poly is so romantic!!

Whirlpool tub for two....concierge service.....king bed....amazing view.....It's also priced the same as a Lagoon View concierge room!!

After that, my vote would be for a garden suite at the BWI.

Have a Magical trip!! :wizard:

OK, that one's on my short list too (it's fun not to consider the price). Actually, I had already thought of Poly Concierge...this sounds like a better deal. Thanks for the tip!

Feel free to offer pics!

One of the Garden cottages at BWI would be wonderful!! Good idea :thumbsup2

I also agree that Poly Lagoon View Concierge would be AWESOME. In fact, that might be the best of the best:cloud9:

Consider a savannah view concierge room at AKL. Request savannah view room and tell them you're celebrating your anniversary and you will not need to worry about getting a pool view, so don't worry about that whole debate~

The more I think about this, I think Poly Concierge LAGOON view would be absolutely #1:wizard:

Spent three nights last July in the Royal Asante Suite at AKL. Absolutely amazing and really good if you want something "different" for just a night or two. By the way, the bathroom is amazing and the large net draped king bed isn't bad either. The balcony on this suite is HUGE. Feel free to PM me if you want any other specifics.

That's my dream, to stay in one of those Boardwalk Inn cottages! For our next big anniversary, that's what we'd like to do!

They look so quaint and romantic! Perfect for a special occasion or "just because you love someone!"

If you are talking about doing this in August 07, your choices might already be made for you. Many suites are booked a year in advance.

Due to the construction of the DVC section of AKL, I would not be interested in the suites there. All DVC members that have booked have been warned of noise issues with contruction.

If choosing a suite I would pick one in the main building of the Grand Floridian or one at the Contemporary with a Magic Kingdom view.

The most for the money will be the Garden Suites at BW Inn. Even they are expensive $595 during value season, other suites can run in the thousands per night. To me no room is worth that much money. I would choose lagoon view concierge at the Polynesian over a very expensive suite.

My vote would be to book a one bedroom villa at Beach Club Villas (part of the Beach Club right next to your hotel). You get a huge master bedroom with King bed, a jacuzzi tub, a separate living room, and even a nice kitchen! You will also find that even though it is larger (and I think nicer) than a suite, it will often be a LOT less expensive than booking a suite! Also, the rooms at BCV are located at the end of the resort next to Epcot - very convenient if you also want to book a romantic dinner followed by illuminations for that night. You also get the bonus of enjoying Stormalong Bay if you like!

That's another great idea...and maybe I'd have a little better chance of getting something there for a night or two just two months from now. Last year, we found a truly last-minute AP rate on a Studio at SSR in June...though I'm guessing a BWV one-bedroom would be harder to find openings in.

Our original plan (which we cancelled a month ago) was to go in June, and we had actually booked a BC room and asked to be at the Epcot end...so location would be great, and we've always wanted to stay at BC.

So, have you made a choice yet??? Curiouser and curiouser...

Nope...still waiting for a "report" from my TA...but here are my top 6 choices:
1a. Lagoon view Concierge at the Poly
1b. Honeymoon Junior Suite at the Poly (same price as 1a!)
3. Garden/Cottage Suite at BWI
3b. Concierge at BWI
5. 1-bedroom villa at BCV (a LOT of bang for the buck)
6. GF Suite (that one would be one night only for sure!)

Of course, at this "late" point it may come down to availability. If none of these are available, we can upgrade at the Swolphin for a couple of nights. I'll keep you posted:)
