So we have narrowed it down to a studio at the new Grand Floridian villas or a garden wing room at the Contemporary resort for our next trip.

We have three girls (2,5,7 at trip time).

We LOVE the polynesian but are looking for something new to try this time!

Any advice???

Was contemplating split stay but if free dining comes out it won't really save us money so picking one resort now.....thanks!

My vote goes to the VGF. Even though I can't comment on the CR since we've never stayed there, if my choice was between those 2 resorts and I hadn't stayed at either, I would choose the GF over the CR for theme/decor. Both are convenient to MK and even though the CR is within walking distance, that would not be enough to sway me to stay there (but this, of course, is just MY opinion ;)). With that said, if both resorts are equally tempting and a split stay doesn't work out, I would choose the one that theme/decor appeals to you the most. Good luck.

I'm going to say GF. Just because the theme is better and more interesting. Although I favor CR regularly, GF sounds like a perfect match! :)

I'm going with CR. As a DVC owner, I hate staying in a studio with enough people that make it required to use the sleeper sofa. There's no floor space with the sleeper open and there's very little storage.

I would take a hotel room with 2 beds very time.

Good to know thank you!

would it be cramped then with the sleeper open and the daybed?

If you can get a deluxe garden wing room, you'd get a ton of room. They are on the corners, so sort of a V shaped room with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. Same idea as the VGF but a lot more room, I think. The garden wing is near the main pool too. With both, you'll have a long walk to the monorail so that's a wash I think.

There's also BLT for a villa option. With that many little ones, the walk to MK sounds priceless to me.

Is the walk from the garden wing to MK or monorail very long compared to the tower??
Am leaning towards CR I think?!? but cannot decide if I feel like I will miss out not being in the tower

The walk from the garden wing to the restaurants/shops/monorail is the same as it is walking from the tower to the pool -- very short. There's no "perfect room" at WDW, you just have to figure out what you want most:

Kitchenette -- VGF
More room -- CR garden wing or tower
Same building as amenities -- CR tower

Just remember the murphy bed in the VGF studio will be different than the daybed in a resort room.

Also remember with the GW rooms at CR, you will not get a balcony. That was a deal breaker for us, but might not matter at all to others.

I agree with Pakey. I only like a studio for a maximum of 2 or 3 people. Opening the sleeper sofa basically takes away all floor space. Then opening and closing it every day gets annoying. Three kids in that tiny room and I'd need a straight jacket. LOL ;)

It looks as though when the VGF are completed that they will start building dvc villas at the Poly. I would take this into consideration as there will be noise and dust etc created by the construction. It costs far to much to stay at the GF to not have a peaceful trip.

I would therefore go with the Contemporary or if you could swing it a 1 bed villa at BLT - just perfect with kids that age.

thanks. am leaning towards GF/CR split stay. the gf doesnt appeal to me buy i think my girls would like it and my dream is tpv at cR. lol
