We are 19 days out from our trip, and really need to lock down our ADRs. Dining party includes me, husband, son (9), daughter (7) and my mom. Please give me your thoughts on these:

MK day:
we are doing one FULL day at MK, and using PM EMH. We are staying at Ft. Wilderness, and could easily go back for a break/meal if needed. We just aren't good at leaving the parks once we are there ;).

--Breakfast at resort
--BOG Lunch: 1:20 ADR. keeping for sure
--1900 PF dinner: We have reservations at 5:15. Sitting down for a while might be nice, but is this dinner worth the price? Other suggestions?

Also, there is no advantage to an early crystal palace breakfast anymore, correct? Just making sure before I cancel.

HS Day: (open to close)
--Breakfast at resort
-- Sci Fi Drive in?? Thoughts on this? Better for lunch or dinner? (both are reserved 2:05 and 4:25) Is this better or worse than a quick serve place like the Pizza Rizzo or Backlot express? We have never eaten at any of these. We are a big Star Wars family, if that matters.

Other ADRs:
--O'hana breakfast (this is the #1 must do)
--Hoop Dee Doo
--TREX lunch (may release this one)

Thanks for your help! It's getting close!

For your MK day, I would keep the 1900 PF, it's a very fun character meal and the buffet is pretty good too. I would suggest maybe doing it a little bit later since you're having a late lunch. Personally, I would do more like a 6:30 dinner ADR time.

For your HS day, I definitely recommend Sci-Fi, it's a must do for us. The lunch and dinner menu are the same there. The two times you have are both non-peak meal times so I wouldn't have a preference for one over the other.

For your other ADRS, 'Ohana breakfast is one of our faves and Hoop Dee Doo is a really fun show and totally worth it. Especially easy with you since you are staying at Ft. Wilderness anyway. TREX is fun and a place my son and I have always enjoyed the 3 or 4 times we've gone there. Nothing that special about the food, but it is quite good.

They are all good ADRs! 1900 Park Fare is super fun. I would keep it, but try to move it a bit later.
I'm sure your kids would like TRex, but I don't know if I'd go to Disney Springs just for that. Were you planning on going there anyway?

Thanks! I'm not sure we have much choice in the times at this point ;) . We did Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the fort last time we went. It's hard not to do that one again, but we wanted to try HDDMR too. I hope it is as much fun as the BBQ was.

We were planning to go there on our arrival day to kill time until check in. However, a day opened up at the front end of our trip, so now we may skip Trex altogether and go to universal that day. :mickeyjum

Agree with the previous poster regarding your MK day, if you have lunch at 1:20p, I wouldn't expect to be hungry for a big (and expensive) buffet dinner at 5:15p. If possible I'd adjust lunch earlier or dinner later. We enjoyed 1900, I don't really feel the need to go again but we did like both the food and characters the time we went.

My soon to be 6yo son, and nieces 9 and 10 yo, all love Sci-Fi. They enjoy the cars, the movies, the milkshakes etc.. DHS doesn't have any really good CS and it's possible to eat at Sci-Fi for not all that much more for a fun and decent lunch.

I'm not sure about the Crystal Palace question, I haven't been back since August 2016 and it seems they've made some changes since then.

Enjoy!

Out of your ADRs, I've only done SciFi, but I do give it a thumbs up! I don't think one time is better than another, so go with whichever makes your FP+ schedule easier.

We tried to get TRex last trip and couldn't. I'd definitely keep it if you don't end up going to Universal. (But as a big Harry Potter fan, I'm rooting for you!)

If you're concerned about the two MK meals close together, check the system a few times as you get closer to the 24-hr deadline. Someone who is double-booked (like you are for Sci-Fi) may very well cancel one, allowing you to moved one of yours a bit if you want. (But don't sweat it if you can't. I definitely get hungry walking around Disney! And a big part of what you're paying for with both of those is the experience anyway.)

My 9 year old is a huge Potter fan. That's why we are only doing 2 days in Disney parks. We are doing 3-4 at universal--not that we have tickets yet ;) I just booked the sci-fi dinner today, and don't plan to hoard both reservations for long. I just need to take a look at our plan and figure out which works best.
