Hi fellow Disers!

My boyfriend and I (no children) are going to Disneyworld for the first time, and we really do not have a concept of how much money we should take with us. Here's what we have planned so far:

We are staying in AKL Concierge on the Discovery Magic Package for five nights/six days.

We are using our "wishes" to pay for dinner each night, except for our first night. We will be eating breakfast in the concierge lounge each morning. So, the only meals that we will pay for are lunch each day and our first dinner. We would like to have lunch at counter service restaurants, and our first dinner will be at the California Grill (I know that this one is pretty pricey).

We would also like to purchase one nice souvenir per person. In addition, we will leave tips for mousekeeping, valet, etc.

So, will $1000.00 be enough for us? If not, how much would you recommend?

Thank you in advance for your opinion! :)

My son and I last year stayed same amount of time, bought all our meals, tipped housekeeping, bought too many souvenirs, had private car from airport to resort and back (with tip), did illuminations cruise, and had an all around good time.

I brought $800 with me and took another $160 from the ATM. I came home with $80.

While I realize my 5 yr old doesn't eat like an adult, based on my experience you should have more than enough $$$. I also bring cash/trav cheques for spending money instead of using my CC, however I always have an emergency card on me just in case.

Thanks tmli & wdwpluto! :)

I am feeling so much better; I was really starting to worry about whether or not we would have enough money.

I'd love to hear from others if anyone else would like to share their opinion (even if it's to say that I may not have enough money).

DH and I go every year on $1000. This covers our room at the AsMusic, all travel expenses, food, souvineers and tips. I always carry the Disney CC with me, and sometimes I will put about $100 on it, but, I usually end up coming home with a little bit of money left over. You should be just fine.
