My darling brother and his family (DW, DD7 and DD3) want to go to Disney at the end of March.

Now the tough part...They want to go with his biological Brother , his DW and 2 Darling Sons, Sister-in-law and her DH, DS7, DS3 and his inlaws (both in their 50's and never gone)

That make 8 adults and 6 kids!!!!

I usually go to Disney with just my DH and we rent a condo but none big enough for 14.

Can anyone give me advice on where there are nice houses for rent, very close to disney that don't charge a fortune?

I have volunteered to look for this and a rental van, plane tickets as well as Disney ticket options.

I have the rest covered but the house is a real brain teaser....Thanks for any help.

Hi, Photobear,

There is a very, very nice Brit on RADP (Disney Parks newsgroup) who rents a vacation home near Disney. There has been nothing but good things said about him and I will PM you the information

One site to use is the Central Florida Property Managers' Association at http://www.cfpma.com/ . Members within that group try to promote ethical standards for their property owners.

Another site is: http://vrbo.com/ which is for vacation rentals by owner. Here is what another poster said about vrbo, "And not all properties listed at VRBO are being rented direct from the owner. Some of them are being advertised by the management company. Anytime you are renting a vacation home, you need to do your homework. Find out exactly who you are renting from - owner or management company. Get references. Get pictures/video of the actual home, not just a "representative" property. Get the cancellation policy. Find out who is available in the area if you experience a problem during your stay."

There are over 650 management companies in the Orlando area and over 10,000 houses for rent. This is both good and bad. You have lots of possibilities from which to choose, but some rentals can cause problems if not handled properly.

I am not promoting this person, but I have read lots of posts by Nigel who has a website: http://www.floridaleisure.com/ and who is a frequent poster to the DIS boards with information on vacation home rentals both east and west of route 192 close to WDW. Here are some areas that he mentioned " West: Sunset Lakes, Rolling Hills, Indian Creek, Formosa Gdns, Oak Island, Lindfields, Indian Creek, Windsor Palms.

East: Cumbrian Lakes, Eagle Pointe, Liberty Village, Indian Point, Montego Bay, Lake Berkley, Chatham Park, Hamilton's Reserve."

However, realize that there are many who post and give helpful information about vacation rental homes.

Hopefully, this starts to help you. You can get exactly what you want by carefully looking over the information available on the DIS boards.

I would go with a condo - 1 2-bedroom for your brother family, 2-bedroom for his brother's family, and a studio (or 1-bedroom) for his inlaws

more expensive - yes - better way to kept peace in the family - definitely yes.

Now my cousin's wife gets along so well with her family that she actually got all 8 people in a 2-bedroom - only one child under 12 in the group - I don't know how she did it - I couldn't....

Hi...because there is so little demand and a very few 7 bedroom homes for 14 to 16 guests I seldom mention our property here...but check out www.7bedroomorlando.com If we can help let us know....Ted

Hey Ted,
Do you mind if I keep you in mind as and when we have our 7 beds fully booked ?

I have some 7 beds but they are all East of Disney and if you are willing to take bookings from me, I can probably fill some of your gaps. Just one question, has your first year warranty expired yet ?
