DD just turned 6 and got a DS from Grandma for her birthday. She has the Nintendogs game and likes that.

I want to get her a good game for Christmas, but there are so many I don't know what to get.

She bought a Hannah Montana game with her own money and she hates it...says its boring. She doesn't like a game with tons of reading. And she doesn't like games where you "die" and have to start all over.

On the computer she plays "hidden object" type games and some simulation games where run a pet rescue. She also likes the regular Sims game.

Keeping all that in mind, does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

My DD was 6 when she got her DS, last year. She loves Cake Mania, Cooking Mama, Carnival. She wants Littlest Pet Shop and Dogs Fashion for Christmas.

I know you have a girl but my son loves the new super mario bros. your daughter might like it too. Its just like the original game that came out years ago but it has cool new things added to it. like you can be a giant mario or even a micro mario. he plays it all the time!
They have the sims for the ds and they also have I spy and I found a cool one called mystery million-heir. its like an I spy. I wanted to get it for DS but I already got him pokemon and drawn to life-spongebob. not to sure what the spongebob one is like but my son wanted it.

DD-7 favorite is Nintendogs, too.

She also enjoys Super Princess Peach, Super MArio BRos., Mario Karts.

My DD5 loves Cooking Mama. There is also a Disney princess cartridge that she loves...I can't think of the name. She plays her brother's Kirby and Mario and Sonic Olympic games a lot too.

You do die and have to start over in Super Mario Brothers, so she may not like that. I have a ds with a ds, so he probably likes different things than your dd. The Pokemon games do have a bit of reading, but they are ongoing adventures, and appeal to both boys and girls. I'd probably start with Diamond or Pearl (they are basically the same, but with different Pokemon.) Of course, if she isn't interested in Pokemon already, she may not be interested in the game.

My youngest is 6 soon to be 7 in a few short days and she got a ds back in May.

She loves nintendogs too.

We also have: imaginebabies, build a bear (loves this one) barbie & the pegasus (this is a regular nintendo ds game) but can be used in the ds.

My DD loves:
Mario Party - it's a board game with mini games.
Mario Kart - fun driving game.
Cooking Mama - cooking mini game.

She also plays:
Pokemon
Princess Peach
Star Wars Lego

Recently turned 7 DD loves Mario Kart, Dolphinz, Cooking Mama, Cooking Mama 2, Build a Bear, Star Wars Lego and Nintendogs.

Recently turned 5 DD loves the same except the game Dolphinz becuase she can't read yet.

I was thinking of getting Club Penguin DS game for Christmas for the 2 of them.

My dd10 is addicted to Animal Crossing. She can visit her friend's town when they play together. There is some reading though.

Ditto this suggestion. Out of all the suggestions, I'd say this may be your best bet. You have to "work" to make money to buy stuff...but, it's a lot of fun and requires actually very little reading unless she talks to the animals that live in her town. Even then, it's not a whole lot.

Im going to third animal crossing. We love it in this house. Its great for all age groups. I play it, my 8yo daughter and my 4yo son. Plus its something you can play with her, not at the same time, but you can live together. It does have a lot of reading in the beginning, so you will have to help her get started and do all the jobs with her. The jobs she has to do is teaching her how to play the game. But they take about 20 minutes to get through, then you play freely.

Another game that would be great is Millionheir. It a "find it" type game.

my kids love mario party as well. You get to have all the mario bros fun...with out the dieing.

I LOVE ANIMAL CROSSING! I've been playing the new Wii one when my LO takes naps, lol.

And don't go crazy and buy it brand new! Hit up an EB Games, Game Stop or Game Crazy and search out a used game for cheaper!

I agree Animal Crossing .. Any of the Imagine series .. How about Disney friends my DD loves it as does my friends Ds 6 who pinches it all the time :rotfl: Also Cooking Mama and any of the Brain Training games (fun for us all hahaha)

DD#1 is 6 and loves Build a Bear. I may have to look for the Animal Crossing one though! She gets frustrated b/c she doesn't read well yet. In all honesty she prefers her Leapster, but all her friends have DSes so she wanted one, too.

Thank you all!

I will check out Animal Crossing. The reading isn't a probelm if it's to the point and not just unnecessary babbling. She gets so annoyed on Nintendogs when she enters a competition and those 2 guys just ramble on for no reason.

It also seems like all the kids like Cooking mama so I will check that out too.

She has the mystery million-heir game for the computer so i didn't want to duplicate that for the DS, but I did find an I Spy game on Amazon and it was only $10 so we will try that.
