Hi! We are leaving for the world in a few weeks, for an 8 night stay. We have the regular dining plan, 2 adults, 3 daughters (2 of which are considered adults because they are 10 and 12). We have adr's for 8 meals. Then I started thinking, if we pay oop for some of the kids meals (my 10 year old would rather order off the kids menu) then we can use a few of her adult credits and add on another ts meal. Here is a list of our ts meals; can someone help me figure out the best way to combine paying oop and using credits to get the most value out of our dining plan credits?....I am confusing myself trying to do it! Thanks.
Our TS meals are
Tepan Edo
Kona Cafe
Ohana
Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic DP
Boma dinner
Crystal Palace lunch
Chef Mickey breakfast
1900 Park Fare dinner
Thank you!

It's better to pay for the kids meal at non-buffet and family style meals as the price is about $7. It's usually better to pay for adult buffets (breakfast is usually the cheapest).

You will have to check prices at Chef Mickey's and CP as they might be close in price. Also check the prices at some of the other meals and see what you think you would order.

Kona Cafe and 'Ohana-are these both dinners?

So you will have some extra TS meals if you pay out of pocket for some of the kid's meals. You need to pick another ADR.

looks to me like you only have two restaurants where you order from menus...all the rest are either buffets or family-style so not sure what the advantage gained will be...well you can pay OOP at those two places for your Disney-adult daughter to order a kids meal, but that will only gain you 2 credits...not enough for another TS meal for the family. My understanding is at the buffets & family style, they'll charge her as an adult anyway since there's no ordering involved...10 & over will be charged adult price so might as well use the adult credit (although she's welcome to eat off the kids buffet counter there ...anyone can eat any parts.)

I wouldn't worry so much, there may be a day that you don't feel up to keeping your dining reservation, for whatever reason, or someone doesn't want to go to dinner, ... That always happens with us on a longer trip, and we will end up getting a counter service instead. If we use the dining plan, we always end up with extra dining credits by the end of the trip.

Decide where you want to eat the most, add up the cost and see if the DDP makes sense for you. That is my best suggestion.

They probably have Free Dining.

You can still save a bit of money paying out of pocket at the two meals for a kids meal. This only works if you want another TS meal.
