I received a pin today...so glad I knew what it was because it was completely corrupt...cannot read anything except title 'thanks from your pals at disney'. so I called the 1800 number and they were able to tell me details...

The dates that work best for us [we don't want to take kids out of school]

are June 3-8
October 24-28
and Dec 21-28

We are a family of 5 so the prices vary all over...but for example FW is $325 a night June & October buy $410 in December. POR is 185 in October, $196 in June and $253 in December...ASuites is $242 October, $271 June & 322 December.

These are prices before the 40% discount...we would also want to add dining and tickets...

October is best prices but worried about Weather and getting affordable flights...

June gives us flexibility to drive if needed...

... But is this the best deal I would get in summer or should I hold out for a free dining promotion or whatever...

This will be our second trip. We went Jan 1 2006 and it was AWESOME, although would have been nice to have it a little warmer.

I'm not good at figuring out how to get best bang for our bucks...we stayed in connecting rooms at POP last time and can always do that again [in fact that's what I would do if we go value....I just can't do quick search online with that selected, so annoying. I wish the AKL was still regular room that would be awesome].

Just throw out a thought for you. The rooms at the Yacht and Beach clubs will sleep 5 with their standard room. That would be $359 for October before your discount. But the cool thing is they have one of the best pools for your children, the Storm Along Bay. You could spend a whole day at your resort, thus saving a day off the tickets. And you are super close to Epcot where there just happens to be totally excellent dining.

I'll have to try again...I was getting $441-534 depending on time.

Also I think I can still do bunk beds at AKL [it says 5] but of course I have to delete a kid in order for that option to come up...the kids would love this too...

I've gotten two similar emails, how did you know it was a pin? My emails have the same subject line, and then it's a totally messed up email with a blue background.

Hi. We would definitely choose your October dates. We've gone quite a few times during Halloween week and absolutely love it. You can do MNSSHP which is a great time to see the MK at night plus the weather is *usually* wonderfully warm for swimming. June is too hot (and crowded) for us and that late in December would be very busy. Enjoy your planning!

because East Coast is still in school...no? My kids' last day is May 31, we're MidWest.

I called because I had read the posts about the email and knew that was the tag line...I was upset because I couldn't get anything to come up [they have a link you can view in html which was even giving me an error].

Trish

OK -- to be clear -- because old holy crap will break out shortly unless this is made clear..

You may very well have a pin associated with your name.

BUT NOT because of *this* email. "Thanks from Your Pals at Disney" -- the scrambled emails actually is supposed to be a downloadable customizable letterhead.

And it is NOT a PIN offer.

Several of the most recent PIN offer emails say..

A special Walt Disney World Resort offer inside

Thank you.

J

I hope all the others that have posted here in the last week about recieving this email and were told to not pay attention to it because it was just a letterhead see this. Maybe they too had an offer.

Trish - You're right, we're NC and our last day is June 8. Farther north, NJ, etc. go unti mid-June so it will be quieter than the rest of June. Although June 3 is Gay Days for Epcot so I don't know how busy that will make it there. And the parks are open a lot later in June than October which is great. I need to stop now; I think I'm trying to talk myself into going in June!

This email is NOT an offer.

The OP may have received an offer separately.

THIS EMAIL is not an offer.

I know several folks who got it and called thinking they had a PIN and they did not.

Please don't feed the rumors to the contrary. We are 100% certain this is not a PIN offer.

Let's not have confusion reign...

From the email in question...

"We’re so glad that you registered at DisneyParks.com, that we just had to send you something special to express our gratitude.

We hope you like it. And that your Disney dreams have already started coming true! To get your free letterhead, just click here. "

I didn't mean to open can of worms although I'm sure glad I called to check...

So would you go in early June or end of October?? I'd love to go in December but the prices are crazy high...plus it's probably crowded....

OR would it be cheaper to go first of January without a pin?

I'm confusing myself...

Trish

Trish:

When you go is really a personal choice. It can be crowded at WDW at weird times.

Apparently December 10th to 17th is pretty good.. but it gets crazy busy after that.

The end of October if your trip falls over or around Halloween can also be busy.

And very early June (ie: May 28 to June 03) .. can be a great week to go.. but it gets busy again right after that.

J

Trish,

My family and I went in October, and it was amazing! It was pre-MNSSHP, but it was still fun. I remember there being hardly any lines for anything, and costumes are always fun to wear! As for December prices, DF and I just got back from going the week before Christmas, we used a code that was out at the time and paid $900 for two adults, with 6 day PH passes and stayed at POP. So, if you book for December, you can always wait and see if codes are announced for that time of year again. Plus...NOTHING beats seeing all of the parks with Christmas decorations!

Thanks for the info too, although even IF I had a code, I still wouldn't use it because I leave in less then a month and have already paid up. I was merely inquiring about what your email may have said, because I've gotten at least two scrambled emails already. Ha ha, at least I know that Disney Destinations has my email address!

Just to further illuminate this ..

PIN code emails recently came from :

Disney Destinations LLC <disney@vacation.disneyworld.com>

This letterhead "Thanks from your Pals at Disney" email came from...

Disney Destinations <DisneyParks@email.mydisneyparks.com>

so bummed about AKL...
so my choices are:
1) Connecting Rooms @ POP [we did this last time]
2) 1 Room @ POR [afraid it will be cramped but resort sounds nice]
or
3) Cabin... [pool will suck but other activities look great]

Cheapest is POR but only 1 room...

WHAT WOULD YOU PICK? AND October 23-28; 6 days 5 nights or June 3-8 or 9. Thanks so much!

Trish

I would pick POR, the pools are nice, there is old man river and quiet pools to pick from. My sister went last August and stayed in the Alligator Bayou section with her family, her, DH, DD11, DD9, DD9, and they weren't cramped she said. They then went to AKL after that and didn't think they were getting any extra space there.

I can get 2 rooms at POP for $100 more which is why we picked POP last time...I can get the Cabin for just a little more than that...this seems like the best deal with this code....
Hmmm...I'll have to run numbers...maybe it isn't that much better...I got the deal Jan '06 with free park hopper and water parks [although too cold for those]...

Trish

it seems 2 rooms at PO FQ or Riverside would be cheaper than a cabin...so that or connecting rooms at value...

And probably first week of June.

I was hoping to break it up more because we camp and do mini vacations in the summer.

Trish

Okay just to let you know that the 40% cannot be used for the ASSuites. They cannot be booked with any of the discounts.

I'm so excited! It was between that POR or 2 rooms at POP and I wanted to try something new but I just felt like POR would be too crammed, we thought about doing connecting here but the POLY was a great 'deal' and I'll probably never be able to afford it again, so we jumped....thanks for the help.

FYI, not interested in the Suites because we do dining plan [I don't like to cook on these type vacations] and I want real beds and 2 bathrooms for less [2 connecting POP rooms are cheaper especially since you get discounts.]
