Please Help me Decide, Y+Y or Rainforest Cafe?

Will be going to AK which will be closing at 7:00pm. Currently have ADR for Y+Y 6:45pm because I have never been there and would like to try something new. However, will be with my 11y/o son and wondering if he would be happier at Rainforest. Should I change my ADR?

Thats a tough one. Im thinking you should give Y&Y a try....the menu is pretty good, it gets great reviews. Besides, you can get a rainforest cafe pretty much anywhere. Do you have one in your hometown or have you been at all? Ever? If you havent been, then maybe you should try Rainforest. If you've been to Rainforest, then try Y&Y.

To be honest, i'd pick TRex at DTD over Rainforest any day. Theyre both similar, but the theme at TRex is more unique and fun. Menu is similar, but it seems to be as thou TRex offers more.

I would chose Yak & Yeti because Rainforest Cafe is a chain and you can get that anywhere. Yak & Yeti is unique to Disney and we really enjoyed our meal there.

Another vote for Yak & Yeti. It has a lot to look at and take pictures of. Rainforest was so loud and confusing, couldn't enjoy the food even if it had been good which it wasn't very good to me. Now, I have only been to Y & Y at lunch time, but it was very nice, I thought. I had steak & shrimp, fried geen beans, and mango pie which I enjoyed very much.

It would be a crime to go with Rainforest over Y&Y The food is so devine there they could serve it to me on a picnic table out back and I would be happy.

The food is so much better and Y&Y. I would stay with the ADR you have. Have your son look at the menu and see what he might like to eat?

Agreed Y&Y seems to have better reviews and it would be something new for us. We have been to RFC already and plan to take him to T-Rex so this should be a non-issue. He is not as adventurous when it comes to eating but he does like some Asian food.

Another vote for Yak & Yeti here. Of course, we have 2 Rainforest Restaurants within an hour of our house, so I may be biased.

Yak & Yeti is awesome though, so it wouldn't be a hard choice for me anyway.

In terms of food, I like Y&Y better. The ribs and duck were both excellent. In terms of decor for an 11 year old, Rainfoest Cafe has moving animals and sound effects. As PP have said, if you have a RFC near where you live, then go to Y&Y because there is only one. Otherwise, you might show your family the two menus and see which they like better.

I would choose Rainforest Cafe. Yak and Yeti had the worst food and worst service we've ever had at Disney, but we ate there when it had only been open for a short time, so that probably had a lot to do with it. I would like to try it for counter service, but we probably won't go back for dinner.

I love Y&Y, the DH and I get the Shaoxing Steak & Shrimp (Skirt steak, tempura-battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stir-fried veggies, and chili plum dipping sauce) and the Fried Wontons (Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons with vanilla ice cream and honey vanilla drizzle) for dessert... YUM!

The Rainforest Cafe in my opinion is good, but, it's menu is pretty normal, food you can find at almost any restaurant across the USA. I say give Y&Y a chance..

Rainforrest is like an applebees with cooler decor.

Yak and Yeti is pretty good. It's a must do on the AK list for us.

I'd pick Yak all day every day over RF.
