Hopefully next summer we will be going to Disney. It will be 5 people, me, DH, our two girls, ages 9 & 11 at the time of trip and grandmother (this will be her first trip ever to Disney)

I don't know if I should get one deluxe room (leaning towards BC/YC), 2 mod rooms(probably at POFQ or CS) or two value rooms (ASMo). Getting two rooms is almost the same as getting one deluxe so I don't know if we should just go with the deluxe or even though it's the same cost maybe two rooms would be better or if I should get 2 value rooms to save some money. I can't decide...please help.

I love the deluxes, however I would think you would be more comfortable with two rooms. Remember that 2 rooms = 2 bathrooms, so it would be much easier to get ready. Plus you will have two TVs - just more room over all.

I'd go with the deluxe. The best thing, to me, about deluxes are the ease of transportation. For MK resorts you're just a monorail or a boat ride away. Epcot resorts are a boat ride or a walk away. We have five in a room all the time and its never been a problem.

Depends on your comfort needs. My family with one of our Moms could all stay in one room and I would probably lean to deluxe. Especially since you are talking YC/BC and summer = Stormalong Bay, easy transport to EPCOT, MGM & Boardwalk.

But you can't beat an extra bathroom and the additional space of two rooms. Went with my group and grandma and stayed Mansion side of POR. Very feminine and feels alittle dressy for moderate. Since you will be mostly gals, it may be a good choice it you decide two rooms.

For a first trip to Disney for Grandma I would not stay value.

Hi! Read your post and I suggest you take a look at the Ft. Wilderness Cabins. They sleep 5, have a separate bedroom with a double bed & bunk beds, and a Murphy bed in the living room area. Additionally, you will have a full-size kitchen for dining in the cabin should you desire. It's like getting a home away from home plus you can close the door on the "kids" and have some privacy!

We'll be doing the cabin in Dec.....

GOOD LUCK to you! :cool1:

I agree with the above poster. Ft Wilderness is nice for summer. Also two rooms at POFQ are great as well. We had 2 rooms this past Sept and loved the resort and the rooms. Two bathrooms and more space. The resort is great as well and since it is a sister resort to POR you can take the boat down to POR and use the amenities there as well. The boat ride to DTD is great and the bus service at POFQ is nice, only 1 stop and the first on prior to POR. :sunny:

If money is truly a major concern, the rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of POR have a trundle bed in addition to the two double beds. It is the only place among moderates/values that allows 5 people in a room. This will make it pretty cramped though, so avoid it if you can. I just wanted to let you know that the option was there.

I would go for two rooms at a moderate or value with your group. You would have two bathrooms for one thing! Also, if you have one room at a deluxe, how would you arrange the sleeping? Are your daughters willing to share a bed? I know my sister slept on the floor at the Poly rather than share a bed with me! (She says I kick but I think she lies)
