Me and my dbf will be headed to the World November 15-21. We will be staying at the BWV with rented points for the Sunday thru Friday part of the trip, needing a place to stay on Saturday. My sister and her family, hubby, son 12 and daughter 9 will be visiting us for the day. (They live in Ft. Myers and we will arrive in Florida at about 10:20a.m.) My sister has already told me they won't be wasting any money on going to the parks, but would meet us for the day to swim, chat and a meal. First question, can they come and visit and swim even though they are not resort guests? If the answer to that question is yes, I am thinking about staying at a resort that would allow them to use SAB. They really got jipped last year as they left the parks to swim and my dad could not get a wheel chair at BWV (where we all stayed) so that he could go by the pool and they just left and went home. I felt really bad because the kids left the parks to go swimming on their last day. I would really like to make that up to them if possible. Should I add her kids to my ressies even though they will not really be staying the night so they have access to the pool? Is SAB the best pool around for kids of this age? I am also thing about making a Chef Mickey's ressie for dinner and of course getting the Kitchen Sink at some point in the day. If anyone has a better idea for a non parks day and stay, please let me know. I would really appreciate it!!! I know you guys and gals have all the answers. Thanks in advance.

That's passed the number of people that could stay in a one bedroom or studio, you could get four or five or maybe even six room keys, but if they are checking hard, you may have a problem. You may possibly want to call the resort, reserve the room, and tell them what you want to do. I bet they will let you.

I wouldn't assume it will all work without calling and checking. think of the embarrassment, Goofy beating you with one of those stuffed bats while Chip and Dale drag the kids away from SAB by their feet. They could start reminding you of last year and how at least no one was clubbed, but you dissapointed them yet again.

I was just wondering I guess if anyone has has a similar situation. Me and DBF NEVER use the pool, but thought this would be great fun for the kids. We would just sit in those hard to come by lounge chairs, (you know the ones that we would have all of our personal stuff on since early in the morning and not get there until well after noon to use) SORRY wrong thread....but I really did want to know if this was an acceptable request. Thanks for the quick replies!!! Oh and I am thinking that it will be a slow time of the year as well which might help in my favor.

Is that thanksgiving weekend in the US? (sorry I'm Canadian) if so it will be extremely busy at WDW.

It is fine to have your family visit the resort, have meals, rent watercraft etc... but the pool is an issue. Only resort guests can swim in the resort pool.

Having said that ~ people do bring friends and relatives and get away with it but imagine your embarrassment if you are caught and they ask them to leave?

Also out of all the resort pools ~ Stormalong is the one that is monitored by CM's most closely for non-resort swimmers.

Would your family be willing pay for passes to a water park for the day? You would get in with your park tickets and they would get a day pass ~ everyone could get in no problem.

Sorry I can't be of more help, the only other thing I was thinking was to stay at a less expensive resort (like an Allstar) do your visiting family can book a room for the day and swim for a reasonable cost.

Also the weather may be cold for swimming ~ I recall last November/December was really cold and rainy in Central Fla.

Good Luck

I made sure to plan around that busy time of the year. Iam going to call and see what they say at teh Yact Club. I guess that will be a better way totackle this.....then no questions will need to asked later and save the embarrassment. Oh and by the way, I was never going to just try to sneak by without anyone knowing. I do try to keep on the up and up.
Thanks again,
Liz

Oh well, I guess I will try again closer to the date. But thanks for the help.
