After reading many of your delicious looking reviews of restaurants and realizing that we decided to book this stay way too late... I started asking for the trip in April, finaly got my way last week! I started making ADR for restaurants for DDP. I upgrade the QSDP for DDP, I figured $10 a day for eating almost every meal was kind of worth it. So this trip its just me and my bf, who is really not into this trip and LOVES to eat. He is a little strange and needs to have some sort of bread at every meal, unless its like pizza, or a burger, or something, since those are made on bread. Werid I know, but we all have our quirks!

Day 1: We fly in MCO at 9:30am, figure by the time we get there and quick in and everything we might be able to make a park? If so we'd QS in AK at Flame Tree, he loves ribs and then head to EP for dinner, I have ADR for Le Chefs du France and Teppen Edo(both at 7:30pm), not sure which would be better.:confused3

Day 2: I really want to have QS at Wolfgang Express, it looks so good! And then I have ADR (7:15pm) for Prime Time Cafe.

Day 3: No idea what to do for lunch, but have ADR for Tony's Town Square(7:40pm)

Day 4: Nothing on ADR yet..... Suggestions appreciated

Day 5: Another meal at Wolfgang's. And ADR at Crystal Palace (7:45pm) figured at least one buffet since he loves to eat A LOT!

Day 6: Leaving day  Our flight leaves at 6:30pm, but figure we might have time for Breakfast or lunch. Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

On that first day, if he really likes to eat, and you're going to be in Epcot, I'd skip Teppan Edo and Les Chefs...go for Biergarten (assuming he likes beer, too...guy=beer, lol) Fun entertainment, great beer & wine choices and of course it's a buffet!

On Day 3, if you're in the Magic Kingdom and going for a counter service lunch...two suggestions: you say he likes ribs/BBQ, Cosmic Rays has a huge BBQ ribs/chicken combo platter (every bit as good as Flametree's, IMO), comes with green beans & mashed potatoes + dessert & soda for one counter service credit:thumbsup2 Also in MK, if you're not wanting BBQ or burgers, try Columbia Harbor House for the fish choices--we like the fried shrimp or the tuna sandwich...love the warm apple dessert there.

Day 4...how about a steak meal for BF. Try Kona Cafe @ the Polynesian, or The Wave @ Contemporary, or Grand Floridian Cafe @ Grand Floridian--all three are a monorail hop away from the Magic Kingdom if you're there for the day...if you're going to be over by Epcot that day, try Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club (exit Epcot through the International Gateway, short walk down to Yacht Club) OR also by way of the Inter. Gateway exit of Epcot, if you want another buffet choice with no characters, Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club...called a "clam bake" but there are several other choices, like roast beef, as well as chicken on the buffet, too.

You'll find wonderful steaks at Kona, Wave, Grand Flor. & Captain's Grill (and some seafood & chicken choices, too, if that's your preference) And all of these places start the meal with either a basket of some sort of specialty bread, or dinner rolls. :thumbsup2 for a bread lover! Of course the buffet places all have bread/rolls choices on the buffets, too.

Not sure if you mentioned when you were going, but Flame Tree is closed from 8/9 thru 9/19/10.

We're there 9/2 - 9/7. Boo no Flame Tree :sad1:

Cath - I went to allears and I don't know if I would like anything at Biergarten, I'm kind of a picky eater too. I wanted to get one buffet there and one character meal in. I stood in line in Town Hall to meet the Princesses four years ago with my mom so I could meet them. I'm just a big five year kid trapped in a 32 year old body. :rotfl: steak and bread recommendations you must know him! He just had his first lobster in the shell this year. I love my seafood.

OKay so now I'm all confused:headache:

I want to use QS for Lunches (we aren't big into breakfast, but I do LOVE waffles:love:) and TS for Dinners.

Day 1: QS - Wolfgang Express - before the touring madness
TS - Garden Grill or Teppen Edo with ADRs. Thinking maybe Garden Grill?

Day 2: TS - 50's Prime Time Cafe - for some reason I really want that Pot Roast!

Day 3: QS - Cosmic Ray's
TS - The Wave or Tony's Town Square with ADRs?

Day 4: TS - Cape May Cafe ADR

Day 5: TS - Grand Floridian Cafe - ADR

Day 6: TS - Crystal Palace - ADR - Breakfast OOP before we have to leave :sad2:

Smart girl for wanting to try WPE, very very good yummy food. I still dream about their pizza :) I hear they make waffles for BF as well.

It's funny you mention the pot roast at 50's cause I'm planning on going there just to order that. It looks sooo good in some of the reviews, doesn't it?

Garden Grill gets mixed reviews but the food there looks good to me so? We are contemplating trying that this time.

Not sure where you will be on the days, are you park hopping? Your options are plentiful in Epcot as far as CS goes.

Park Hopping is a no brainer with me.

I'm going to try and get to WPE at least twice. I'll let you know how the pot roast is!

Day 1: AK (maybe? I love the Safari) def EP
Day 2: HS
Day 3: MK
Day 4: EP
Day 5: MK
Day 6: Leaving Day - Not Sure

I know I want to get on the Safari in the AM and try out it in PM this time. I'm super scared of heights and drops and freefalls, so BF will have to do some single rider lines if I can get him to go by himself. I don't mind waiting and its better than seeing me like this :scared1: before even seeing the ride. I almost fell out the back of the Pirate ship at a fair if you need where all that came from, lap bar was pretty far away from me.

Back to food.....

Day 6 : Breakfast at CP or Boma?

I want to use QS for Lunches (we aren't big into breakfast, but I do LOVE waffles) and TS for Dinners.

Day 1: QS - Wolfgang Express - before the touring madness
TS - Garden Grill or Teppen Edo with ADRs. Thinking maybe Garden Grill? I have been to both. GG is fun, but we prefer Teppan Edo. Of course, there's no bread at Teppan Edo! :) The portions at Teppan Edo are HUGE and I love the ginger cake there. Also, I think that the Japanese pavilion is rather romantic.

Day 2: TS - 50's Prime Time Cafe - for some reason I really want that Pot Roast!

Day 3: QS - Cosmic Ray's
TS - The Wave or Tony's Town Square with ADRs? The Wave is wonderful!! Fantastic food, very cool atmosphere. The desserts and agave margarita are delicious. Another romantic spot! :lovestruc

Day 4: TS - Cape May Cafe ADR

Day 5: TS - Grand Floridian Cafe - ADR

Day 6: TS - Crystal Palace - ADR - Breakfast OOP before we have to leave Fun place!

counter service recommendation on Epcot day--Sunshine Seasons downstairs in the land building...wonderful Asian station if you like Asian food, or the grill station is also great. And best part of eating at Sunshine Seasons...once you have your entree, go way down to the far left to the bakery counter to pick up dessert...wonderful choices like a fab strawberry shortcake, triple chocolate cake, etc.

On your last day, if you're wanting a wonderful breakfast, go to Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge...best breakfast on Disney property (no characters, though) And AKL is an awesome place to see - gorgeous lodge, displays, decor, etc. Even the gift shop is cool. And if you're there early, go out on the verandah to view the animals on the savannah...almost like a mini-park at AKL. And did I mention -- BEST breakfast ever!:thumbsup2

Not to throw a wrench in your plans - because they sound great! - but if your dining partner is all about the bread, there are some places with yummy, unique bread like Ohana and Kona Cafe at the Polynesian (pineapple/coconut bread). You can easily eat here on a MK evening since they are both on the monorail. And Le Cellier at Epcot - HEAVENLY pretzel bread sticks - OMG these are so good!

I have heard good feedback on other restaurants' bread as well but those restaurants I mentioned I've actually eaten at.

I'm hoping I can get a reservation for Le Cellier, but no such luck yet.

He isn't just about bread, he just needs bread in order to feel like his meal is complete. Its a European thing I guess?:confused3 But at this point anyone who knows me and knows him knows to have a steak and a loaf of bread when we come for dinner... Or a whole turkey so he can have the dark meat and bones.... Another European thing????

I was also going to second the 'Ohana idea since they keep bringing you more & more food until you are stuffed. Lots of meat. Good bread too.

What about the buffet at Boma?

Since you're not big breakfast eaters, I've been told a snack credit for a muffin or something works good. (However, I'm sure you'll find plenty of other yummy uses for the snack credit!)

Garden Grill food was very good. My husband who is a man's man's liked the food alot. He said he would go back. It's skillet style with meat, potatos, maybe corn - regular guy fare. However, if you're not into characters, beware. Goofy dressed up as a gardener made it to our table like 3 times!

We're also trying the Cape May Buffet this time and it sounds great!

Another poster commented about a Boma breakfast buffet which we are also trying, I've heard awesome things about this. We also have a Crystal Palace reservation for breakfast buffet, and this has mixed reviews that I've seen, but it is convenient for us one of our weekdays - plus I love Tigger. So, depending what's important here, you may want to think about this.

I was thinking about paying OOP for breakfast snack items. I have a huge sweet tooth and basically am just dreaming of ice cream sundaes and everything sweet.

I love meeting characters, I made BF stand in line with me so we could meet Mickey in DL. Eeyore has always been one of my favorites, but since its the very end of the trip, maybe it would be time to give him a character M&G a break?

Did you see the photos someone posted of the Cape May buffet? Looks soooo good, chocolate lava cake. Yum!

I think I'm going to print out the menus from allears for where I have ADR's and where I'm thinking to QS and let him have a little imput, but I'll still get my way. I love my Disney.:thumbsup2
