After many hours I've narrowed my hotel selection down to 3: Grand Legacy at the Park, Carousel Inn & Suites, and Castle Inn & Suites. It probably won't make a big difference which of the 3 I choose, but I would love and appreciate any input you guys have on them since I've never stayed at a DL area hotel before. The price (including parking fees) for Grand Legacy and Carousel are about the same, while Castle is $26 cheaper. Please feel free to share your recommendations/experiences, thanks so much!!

I am a Castle Inn fan, mostly because it satisfies my needs. It's a 8 minute walk to Disneyland, it has free Wi Fi, it's close to 7 eleven and CVS. The staff is friendly (I remember that I couldnt make shuttle reservations the day before we had to leave, and the guy in front desk was so kind and helped me, even tho it was 3 am!)

So I'd go for Castle Inn, fo' sho'!

Carousel Inn is closing in October, so if you plan on going to DL after October, then Carousel Inn would be a no go.

I'm surprised the prices are that close. The Castle Inn is usually much cheaper--we stay there whenever we can get it with taxes for around $100-$120 per night. We really enjoy the Castle Inn. We've stayed there twice this year (Jan & May) and are staying there for our December trip too before the APs expire. :) Castle Inn is clean, comfortable, close and inexpensive. I'm not familiar with the other two hotels so don't have an opinion on them.

When is your trip? Sometimes you can get really good prices on Castle Inn through Getawaytoday. Other times not so much...

I stayed at Grand Legacy when it was Ramada Maingate in 2012, and at Castle Inn in 2011. Both of them were fine, but nothing special. Castle Inn was really outdated, but I think the rooms have been remodeled since we stayed there. The walk from Ramada was shorter and my kids liked the splash area and the zero entry pool (they were 3 and 5 at the time.) The Castle Inn was a great price when we were there in 2011. I think we paid less that $200 a night for a suite. There were 2 Q beds in one room and a king bed in the front room.

Grand Legacy is WWWAAAAYYYYY nicer than Castle Inn in my opinion so it would be well worth the extra 26 bucks. While I know others like it I hate a bad experience there with the room being dirty and very noisy. Both are a bit longer of a walk than I like to do at night.

If Carousel will still be open for your trip it would be much closer than either grandy legacy or castle. Grand Legacy is the nicest of the lot and Carousel is the closest and both are worth 26 dollars more than castle. What is most important to you? Distance? Amenities and room furnishings? which one is best for you will differ based on your answers to those questions.
