I am trying to decide on our first night ADR. We plan on being in Epcot. Any suggestions?? We are traveling with a 3 & 4 year old. Give me your favorite idea pretty please! I have the others ready to reserve, but I am struggling with the first night. I want it to be special!!

With the children, there's a character meal in the Garden Grill (in the LAND) that is nice. I think they might like Germany also as there is always music and dancing going on. Not sure about younger children in some of the other places as they can take a little longer.

Special can be so many things to so many people.

Do you want a TS place? Or can you deal with a counter service? There are a lot of counter service options.

If you are set on staying at Epcot, I suggest the Garden Grill. Kind of a comfort food place, but it's fun and unique and I think it's got some of the best character interaction in the World, if that's important to you.

If you want to mosey away from Epcot, do to Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. You can walk there. It's a nice buffet with a lot of choices.

Counter service? My kids like the food at Yakitori House in Japan, but I know not everyone is into that kind of stuff. Morocco also has good choices at the Tangierine Cafe.

Thanks for the ideas - we have never done Garden Grill. We aren't opposed to doing Counter Service either.

If we do CS, we could just munch our way through Epcot...where should we not miss?

Garden Grill would be great with a 3 & 4 y/o.
The set up is really nice there and the food is pretty good too!

Definitely Garden Grill... the food was very good (and kid friendly) plus we had some of the best character interaction there ever! We still laugh about our last meal there and it was 3 years ago!

Cantina de San Angel in Mexico. The nachos are great!!

You could wander over to Boardwalk there are a few TS restaurants over there. We especially like ESPN Club and you don't have to make an ADR as it's walk up only.:thumbsup2

Garden Grill is fab! We took our nieces in 2006 (they were 5 years old at the time) and loved it... food was really good, they got to design their own cupcakes for dessert and the characters were brilliant with them... my nieces had a eeyore and piglet teddy each and the characters made out that they were scared of them so my nieces thought it was sooo funny to chase after the characters with their teddies lol.... the characters then chased after them a little bit and hugged them and their teddies... it really was a lovely meal... and the slight spinning of the setting is amazing! LOVED IT!

I'll be different - when we stay at YC we usually do Coral Reef for the 1st night dinner. The kids love the aquarium atmosphere and it keeps them entertained. Plus I just love the lobster bisque.

Being at Epcot, we have found Cape May to be great. It is close to Epcot, it is a buffet (which works well with my kids 4 & 6). It is a great way to start the trip.

If you plan on eating around the world, I wouldn't miss nachos at Cantina, egg rolls and lo mein at Lotus Cafe in China, Kaki Gori in Japan, Crepes in France, sandwiches and desserts in Norway... can you tell we do this a lot :rotfl:

I'd take the kids to the Garden Grill. I took my DGD there on our first night and then we watched Illuminations. It was a wonderful character meal to kick start the Disney feeling.
