Please help-last minute trip-

I just booked a trip for Jan. 16th for my dd 6th bday. We have been to WDW many times but never for a bday. I just decided it would be fun.

What will the crowds be like? the 17th in MLK, jr. day??
We have never been in winter either- will we be able to swim at all?

What is the deal with the EMH? Are these extra?

I still need to get tickets-should I order the old 4 day hoppers- 213.00 AAA or the new MYW? Why?

I am a member of Hotwire and can get 4 day hoppers there for 208.?? which I think I will do later today, but are there any better deals?

Will the kind of ticket you buy affect the EMH at night?

MLK weekend will more then likely be pretty crowded, at least for the weekend. You can use EMH IF you have a ressie at a WDW resort. There is no charge for it, and the kind of ticket you buy could affect EMH, if you buy one of the new tickets and don't get PH priveledges with it and go to the wrong park the day of the EMH- so make sure you get the right park for the right day. According to accuweather.com, temps leading up to that week so far look great! Low to mid 70's. lows in the high 50's. When we go in January we do swim. The pools are heated and lovely to swim in. You'll love WDW in January! In general it is VERY LOW CROWDS and you can get tons done!

we are staying at Pop for 55.00 a night. Are the pools there also heated??
I will get the hoppers but I am thinking of getting the old 4 day hoppers at my disney store today at 215.00 or from hotwire for 209.00
will these work for EMH? 3 full hours for free !!! why would anyone not think this was great??

Those PH will work just fine. I've never stayed at POP before, but I would tink taht all the pools at WDW are heated pools. You said you were a AAA member? My experience is that AAA is a better place to get your PH from then The Disney Store. unless maybe, you have some kind of discount you can use at The Disney Store taht would apply to the PH ticket. The other thing you should do is check the new ticket prices. You can get a 4 day PH that will expire and it may be cheaper then getting a 4 day PH that does not expire. I don't know- give it a look. Yes, the pools at Pop are heated and its pretty hit and miss about the weather. It will be busier at that parks that weekend until Monday, then the rest of the week should be no lines. You can see pratically everything you want to see and get in front for parades etc without having to wait. Last year we walked into Fantasmic about 20 minutes before start and got three rows back from the front directly in the middle! All the parades we wanted to see we lined up about 10 minutes before they started maybe 15. We were always in front and the girls got picked numerous times to participate. One year my dh and two daughters got picked to be in Storytime with Belle. Its that uncrowded. We love that time of year so much, we 're going back only had to move our week to a later week due to scheduling problems. Maybe it will be a bit warmer. Oh, pack warm and cool clothes. One day it can be high 70s and the next high 50s. And the nights are always chilly. We watched Illuminations one year in winter coats, hats, gloves and hot chocolate. The next day we were swimming. LOL

I ordered my 4 day PH from Hotwire on Dec 21 and got them on Dec 23! Now that is great service! Plus they were the cheapest price around.

I, too, planned a last minute trip! So excited! I think we are going to take in a little of everything instead of major Park playing. I'm going to pack in layers and will just have to do laundry! I refuse to lug more than one bag for all for five days!

Hi!

We are checking out the day you are checking in! We aren't planning to swim, but from what I have read here there are plenty of folks who do. I was told the pools are heated to 82 degrees.

I do think it might be more crowded than the average January due to the holiday, the Builders Show (which wraps up Sunday, so there will probably be families hanging out for a day or two to enjoy the parks), and the college cheerleading competitions. Of course I have never been to WDW, so these assumptions are just based on what I have read!

I know for certain that the old 4 day hoppers are cheaper than the MYW tickets for four days with no expire and hopper added. I bought ours at Disney Store - we are not Hotwire or AAA members. But those hoppers are only supposed to be available until Jan. 2, then everything converts to MYW. Have fun!!
