Please help...kind words....reassurance needed***UPDATE***

I may be over-reacting or a bit selfish even, but last week, my father's friend told me she had my stuff in the mail and it would be here either that following Sat (the 22nd) or Mon (the 24th). A week later and nothing!! These are very important documents, savings bonds as a matter of fact and I don't understand what's going on. My DF is deceased and his girlfriend now has all those important documents as she was his beneficiary. South Carolina is where they are coming from and I just don't get it. I don't want to seem pushy and that's why I haven't called her, but I may have to tomorrow (sun) to see what happened. She said she would send them certified as they are important documents.
I know mail slows at the holidays...but one week!!!????? DH and I ordered something from a shoe store that arrived 3 days later. Yes it was delivered by UPS, but still.
I guess I could use a little pixie dust and prayers. It's not that I need the money or anything, but where are they? Are they stuck out there in the mail somewhere???? She has my correct address and I know that someone else couldn't sign for something that's not theirs...would they? I just thought of something....I can't remember if certified mail goes to our landlord instead of our mailbox. I can't remember if they told me that or not. However, shouldn't the landlord call me if it does? Shouldn't something be stuck in my box to let me know this? Hmmm, I guess I'll have to wait til Monday and find out.
A prayer or two would be really nice.

I can't imagine how hard it has to be for you! {{hugs}} I would just ask her for the certified number she sent it out so it could be traced since you should have received it by now. This way you aren't accusing her if not sending it and that you can find out where it is. Good luck to you!

I'm not so sure how certified mail works but I would guess there is a way to track it. If you ask her if she could give you the tracking number from the receipt she got and tell her you know she has a lot on her mind and you'd be happy to call the post office about it for her, maybe she'll give them to you, or, fess up.

Good luck, Denise. I hope that important mail arrives soon!! Waiting and waiting for something important is soooooo nerve-wracking!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Certified mail goes first class, so should only take about 3-5 days depending on how far you are from a given city. Unfortunately, the tracking number isn't put into the system as it travels, only put in at the delivery point. She may not have mailed it yet, or there may have been some snafu. Hopefully it will show up quickly. Good luck!

From my past experiences certified mail has taken longer then first class mail. But, the system may have changed since the last time I used certified mail.

I called her today (monday) and come to find out, she sent it to the wrong address and got it back in the mail last Wed. After giving her the correct address again, she went out today to mail them to me. Yea!! So I should get them either Friday or Saturday of this week. Mail from SC is about 3-5 days.
