I could really use some advice here!! Myself and 3 of my children, 13, 9, and 6, are heading to the Poly on May 7th. I purchased the
DDP, however, I don't know if it is the right choice for us. I haven't done the math....but maybe someone could give me some advice based on our dining plans. My 13 year old eats like a bird, but because of his age I had to get the adult plan. My younger two usually share meals when we go out. We are going to do the Hoop Dee Do, La Cellier, Chef MIckey's for bfast, and Coral Reef for sure. Am I better not on the plan. Also....we never eat dessert...it would go totally untouched. I just can't figure out what to do!!! I like the thought of the DDP for the convenience....but I certainly don't want to pay for what we wont eat. Suggestions???!!!
I have a spreadsheet that I created to plunk menu items into. The only place that you'll have to pay for your kids in full are Chef Mickey's and Hoop Dee Doo. They could share at LeCellier and Coral Reef.
Hoop Dee Doo, Cat 2 will be $163.96 (incl tax and gratuity)
Chef Mickey's will be $71.96 ($76.67 with tax)
LeCell will be $39.06 (1 Adult Entree $25, and 1 Children's meal, four beverages) ($41.60 with tax)
Coral Reef will be $42.06 (1 adult Entree $28, 1 Child's meal, four beverages) $44.79 with Tax
You're using 5 TS Credits, so the following is based on a 5 night stay.
DDP Cost $379.90 for Adults
DDP Cost $99.90 for Children
DDP Cost $479.80 Total
$354.54 Total TS meals including Tax
$479.80 DDP
-$354.54 OOP
$125.26 DDP cost over OOP
CS Meals
$10.00 Adult Meal
$5.00 Child's Meal
$15.00 - Approximate cost for each CS experience
$15 x 5 days = $75
Snacks
$3 x 20 credits = $60
TS Meals $75
Snacks $60
Total $135.00
Pull down the $125.26 from above and you'll come out slightly ahead using the DDP (Less than $10, but you won't have to share if you don't want to. If you share like I indicated then you can be comfortable knowing that you're breaking even at least)
You're awfully close to the edge of breaking even. My suggestion is to look at the menus and see what you would want to order at each place. If your numbers jive with what I have outlined here, then go for it.
If you think you'd spend less then you're better off paying OOP.
