OK, here's the deal. I am a government worker and qualify for the Swan's discounted rate. I also have a 20% off a Value code. I have also seen info on e bay for the rental of Sun thru Thur. @ OKW studio for $650.

I will be taking my mother (78) on her first trip. My daughters will also be with us. (They are both adults as well).

If we did the Value, we could stay longer (Mom will probobly never get to go again). But the thought of a full size bed stinks. The girls and I LOVE the ASMu!!!! So the fact that it's a value doesn't bother us at all.

We will be going in Sept. (flexable schedule at this point), so the crowds will be lower, and we should be able to see more in a shorter period of time, but I want this to not only be a once in a lifetime trip for mom, I don't want it to be spent on the go trying to see as much as possible.

Oh, one other option is the Buena Vista Suites. It's offsite, but the price is really good, and would give us more room. Hmm What do you guys think?
:confused3

Do not stay at Buena Vista Suites, you will be disappointed. We stayed one night here and hated it, couldn't wait to get onsite. Since you are taking your Mom for a once in a lifetime trip, go with the Swan (great location, excellent beds, really posh feel) or look into renting points at DVC and have more room since it sounds like you will be 4 adults. The regular resorts will charge you extra for having more than 2 adults in the room, DVC does not.

You have some really good options!! Out of all your options, I would choose either the Swan or values. Your mom would probably love the Swan and there would be a lot of people there for her to talk to if she didn't want to go to the parks for part of the time. There seems to be a lot of retired people that were just hanging out there talking. The beds at the Swan are most awesome and the grotto pool is lots of fun too!! You can't beat the closeness to Epcot and DHS for the Swan.

The values are always lots of fun. They are just so Disney-ish and I love them. They will save you some money, but I would see what the difference is in the money for the Swan and the values and just see if it's worth it to you. I would stay away from Ebay though because you may not get what you want. There is a section on the boards here for DVC so if you want to try that option, I would look there.

Have a great stay!!!

go with the Swan; it's smaller (less opportunity to feel overwhelmed); easy access to disney Studios and Epcot via boat which means less walking for a 78 year old. Should she tire and want to go back to the hotel and rest, you all don't have to leave; she can merely exit the park and get on the boat to the Swan/dolphin.
Besides that, Swan has the "heavenly beds" --you guys may never leave your room!:rotfl:

Be sure to check to see what the Swan charges for additional adults in the room. When we went last December 7-17, adding a third adult in the room would have been $100 more per night than two adults, one child and one infant. I expected about $25 or so more per night, on par with Disney's deluxe resorts.

Needless to say, we didn't stay there!
