Okay, here is the deal. I have a trip booked at Asmu for April 12-19 2008. I know that they list all of the names of the people that will be staying. Here is the problem, my dh is taking a new job next month and he will probably not get a vacation week to be able to go. So, I am thinking about turning this into an all girls trip and myself, my mom, and my 2 dds going instead. So, can I just change the name on the ressie or do I have to rebook once I know whether or not he can go? Please help! I don't want to have to rebook because I may not know if he can go or not until several months away and next month is adr booking time too! Sorry if this is long or in the wrong place. I knew that you all could help me.:confused3

Not a big deal to change a name. We have even done so upon arrival.

Did you buy a package with airfare? If so there could be a problem with changing the name. If you just reserved a room I would think it would be fine to change the people around

I didn't buy airfare. We will drive. I bought the package with room, tickets, and dining. Will this make a difference?

If you don't have airfare I don' think it will make a difference, but why don't you call reservations and ask them? I would seem to me that you can change one adult for another pretty easy

Like I said I've done it a few times. Nothing to sweat about, just call and do it.

Thanks! I don't want to change it just yet. I am hoping that my dh's new employer will understand and just let him take an unpaid week. But, it is looking like my dh doesn't even want to ask since he will be new. He also might be in training that week. So, I can change it last minute if I need to? I am going to just go ahead a book my adrs next month and not worry too much about it. They don't ask names for that. Thanks again.

I've had Disney trips planned before and then started a new job where I wouldn't have vacation. Before I accepted the job, I told my new employer that I had a vacation planned with family and could I take that time as leave without pay? I was up front about it before I even started. In both cases, my employers granted the leave and both times advanced my vacation time to me so I got paid the entire time. I did say that I was more than willing to take the time without pay. Employers can surprise you and if they have enough advance notice, can try and help out employees. Have your husband give it a shot. If they say no, it's not a big deal. However.... they could say yes.

You can just change at check-in. We have done that before, no problems.

the same exact thing happened to me and DH actually joined us for 2 of the 7 nights... even though my mom was with me and my 2 daughters for the first 5 nights, her card had my DH's name on it. No problems whatsoever with her using it... she was even able to use the magical express to leave on fri and my Dh used it to arrive on Fri.

Thanks so much! You have all made me feel so much better about everything. I told my dh to just tell them up front at his new job. The problem is he is paid straight commission, so I am not sure how that would work. Anyways, he is afraid to ask for some reason. My mom really wants to go though, and I am really lucky to have her. My dh lost his mom last year and his dad a few years before that, so he doesn't have parents. I should feel very lucky that I still have my mom and that she wants to go. Plus she will be paying half!:rotfl2: I am going to just wait until after the first of the year to see what we will do. We may have to upgrade resorts anyhow if she goes. We will need a little more space than a value with her.
