Please help! A few free dining questions.

I know everyone is excited over free dining. I am thinking of making a reservation for the end of September and am very interested in the free dining option, but have a few questions. If I make the reservation and check in on Sept. 20, does the free dining apply for my whole trip? Also, are you able to cancel the reservation if I end up not being able to go? I had room only last fall that I needed to change a few times b/c of my DH work schedule and the same thing may happen again. I don't want to lose out on the free dining, but I need to be able to cancel the reservation if the need comes up. TIA for the help!

I am also curious about the dates. We are planning on going September 20, and I was wondering the same thing. I think I have read that you can get it, but I am not sure!

Check in by Sept 20th to get FD for length of stay. Same cancel policy applies.

I was told that the free dining ended on September 20th by the disney agent on the other end of the phone. He said that was a change to this year's plan. I changed my dates to accomodate that because I would have rathered a later check in.

Maybe I should call back.

Yea, I would call back. There are tons of people, including myself, who are checking in on the 20th and have FD for length of stay!

My CM wasn't sure - she called guest services to confirm.

Everyone I saw post today...
Said they were able to extend FD
for length of stay past Sep 20th...

CM didn't seem sure but said lets try it
and put it in and it worked.
Maybe some CMs don't know it will work...

So if they say no...
Just ask them to please TRY it anyways.....

The CM I talked to said as long as you book by Sept. 20th it will cover up to 10 days past.

With a package, payment in full is due 45 days before check in. You can make any changes free of charge up until then. After that date you are charged a fee of $50.00 to make any changes (unless the change results in an increase in the pkg price, in which case they will waive the change fee). For cancellation made 44 to 6 days prior to guest's arrival there is a $100.00 cancellation fee per pkg. For cancellations made 5 days or less prior to arrival there is a $200.00 cancellation fee. Vacation insurance is nonrefundable if not canceled within 14 days of booking.
