Please give our Timon a hug.

Never a burden Cass. You know that.

Having lost my job in 1994 due to a merger....I knew how you were feeling. You & I both worry about $ & how things will work out. We talked about that last year when Rob lost his job....and see, things have gotten better for him. Maybe not the best...but he's working again. It will take a while, but it will all get better for both of you.

Remember, it wasn't your dream job anyway. I know -- it paid the bills. But maybe this is the door opening up for you to use your art talents (something you always wanted to do.) Trying to think of some way you could use your art talents as a job...but that you would still be able to do even on the days that the pain is bad. I'm thinking.

Meantime....you've got the best guy in the world there with you. He'll stand by and take care of you. Rob is a keeper!!! :D

I'm here anytime you need me. Email or phone! OK?

Oh Cass, I feel for ya! We have been in a similar boat several times, and it is tough. We are here for you and things have a way of working out financially....really, they do! ::yes::

Cass, I know nothing about Canadian law, but I do know when someone needs a lawyer! So, please, do not "pass go" go straight to a lawyer's office, and if you want me to use some of my work connections to find you one, just PM me, Ok? Don't let your rights get trampled.

mcnuss,

Thanks for the offer. I am still waiting on my union rep and I am also filing a complaint against the company with Human Rights. Going the laywer route would cost a considerable amount of money and we just don't have it right now.

If I don't get any satisfaction at all with the other two, I will call a lawyer up and just get some advice or at least talk to them but I don't think it's a route we can afford to pursue.

Most lawyers down here in this kind of line of work would give you at least an hour of time for free, so keep that in mind. The Human Rights people might also know someone who'd advise you for low or no cost.

One thing I might suggest is to go to the person above the union rep, as it does not sound to me as though s/he has your interests at heart. It might be time to go over that person's head.

Pls. let me know if I can help. I know a few Canadian lawyers and I am certain that they'd point us to someone good.

In the meantime, keep well!
