Hi, I am new to this scrapbooking board, and the first pages/web sites that I looked at was Timon's. I totally was thinking the exact same thing that b&bcruisers and cherio said.
Cass, like I told you before, your layouts and photos have inspired me to get going on my scrapbooking, and your trip reports have taught me a thing or two, and have made me excited for our first Disney cruise!! Thanks so much for your helpfulness, and sharing your Disney enthusiasm and spirit with everyone! It really does pass on to others! Hope you have many happy days ahead!! :wave2:

I'm always ready to give a hug. Oh dear, I am not familiar with this place enough to know where the hugs are. :grouphug: Hopefully I found one. Take care.

Hi guys! :wave2:

I just wanted to say again THANK YOU!!!! so much for all your wonderful, kind thoughts, prayers, hugs and pixie dust!!::yes::

I was having a really bad day the other day and I logged on and read this post again and it really did lift my spirits!

I guess I also wanted to share my story, since you have all been so amazing!

In 1997, I was told by doctors that I have either Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis. It took a year of trials and errors but we found a medication that helped my severe joint pain and I was able to live a normal life mostly, had to give up a few things but in the big picture, it was worth it.

In early April, I started experiencing my joint pain again. I have good days (able to move around but with much pain) and bad days (days that I can't get out of bed) and from April 1st to May 31st, I missed 10 days of work. I've been a Pre-board screener at the airport for two years now but on April 1st, a new company took over the contract and they put us on probation again. (which we are not even sure is legal) We all retained our jobs, seniority etc, even management stayed the same.

On May 31st, I was called into the office to talk about my attendance (even though my absences were accounted for with a doctor's note) and we discussed me going on an unpaid Medical Leave of Absence. The very next day, they wrote my termination letter and the day I faxed all my information for my medical leave, I received the termination letter via courier.

I have been in touch with a union rep, however, due to the change of contract, the union we WANT cannot represent us, instead we have to deal with the union that automatically comes with this new company. This union rep will not return my calls, gets aggrevated when I call him and even though has been personally told by a shop steward that I lost my grievance, is assuring me that no decision has been made yet. Now, I know very little about unions, this is my first unionized job, but I have been told that I only have 10 days from the grievance decision to make a submission for it to go to arbitration. Well, I just received a copy of my grievance last night and the decision is dated the 10th, which was 12 days ago, so I don't think that he is working with MY best interests in mind.

On top of all that, I am trying to get into see a rheumatology specialist and haven't had any luck. So until then, I live with a huge amount of pain, no money coming in and worrying about everything!

And the really sad part....I haven't been able to scrap for over 2 months now!!!

Sorry to burden you guys with this, it's just that I am so frustrated and confused and mad too sometimes.

All your hugs help me though :grouphug:

Timon,
You haven't burdened us with telling us what is wrong--this is what friends are for, even if we have never met in person! I am sure I speak for the others on this board, through your scrapbooks & pictures we feel we personally know you. I am so sorry for what you are going through, it is all so unfair & unreasonable. I am older than you so therefore I have at this point been through many disappointments, heartaches & unfair treatment. The first real unfair thing happened to me 25 years ago when my husband left me for another woman (we had 2 children). But I can tell you how I got through that & many other things through the years & that is through a belief in the Lord & a lot of prayers! I have been happily married now to a man for 21 years & he has been a wonderful stepfather to my kids. (My daughter, now 28 & married has given us a beautiful 7 month old grandaughter). My husband is older than me, has had numerous health problems through the years, & every time something has come up with his health, God has brought us through by using doctors, operations, or medicines. I have learned to lean on my faith when times are rough and sure enough on the other side of the problem I can see how God helped us through & made things right again. With all this said, please know that you are in my prayers & I know God will give you the answers you need & help you find the right doctor, restore good health, & He will also work out the job situation for your good! Please know that lots of love is coming from this home!:D
