I've fallen in love with the wedding pavillion at sea breeze point on the boardwalk. I've seen a past Disney Brides pics and they are absolutely beautiful. I didn't really give sea breeze point much of a thought when choosing my location for my intimate wedding because it didn't look much like anything in the one lousy pic that I saw from Disney. Also, I read that it is a rather large place to hold an intimate wedding.

One good thing about the Wedding Gazebo, (where I am currently booked), the decor is already there. All the flowers make it look lovely without any further decorating.
Also, the YC Gazebo is the only outdoor location that I can get a cd player to play "Our Song". It's the only place with an outside outlet)

On the other hand, If I had the Ceremony at Sea Breeze point we would be covered in case it rains.

Please give me more positive reasons to keep my ceremony at the YC Gazebo because I am REALLY thinking of switching locations.

Also, the night of the wedding we are probably going to be hanging out at the Boardwalk a little. Would it be possible to get some photos of the two of us at the Pavillion on the boarwalk, or is that reserved only for weddings?
If you have anything positive to say about Sea Breeze point, i'd love to hear that too! (Just to make my decission harder..lol.

Meranda - you have to go with what your heart says on this one. Both locations are beautiful.

For us there was never a question of where we would get wed on Disney property. Paul and I spent our first holiday together at The Yacht Club and we have stayed there twice since that holiday. It is our most favourite resort and it holds so many great memories for us that to be able to get married there is like a dream come true so I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.

Sea Breeze Point is so beautiful and holds a completely different character and I love the fact that you look out over the water whilst you get wed - how romantic.

Yup this is gonna be a hard one for you ;)

My wife and I were married in the YC gazebo 10 yrs ago (nov 93). It was cozy, romantic and the best thing we ever did. I just recently surprised my wife by purchasing the DVC at BCV's for our 10 yr anniversary.....I worked with the Private Dining folks at the YC and had a surprise dinner for two "in" the gazebo where we got married......candles, rose petals, wine then went on an Illuminations fireworks cruise....Every time we go back we say " I can't believe we actually got married there!".....Now we have a DS and DD to bring with us to show them....They don't really care, but we still love it...Seems like yesterday that it happened....

So I guess I vote for the Gazebo, but I am "slightly" biased :-)

Awww Rich that was so sweet and romantic of you - I'm very impressed and thanks for sharing that story with us - no wonder you're biased.

Awwww! Rich that's such a cute story. Your wife is a lucky woman. One day your DD will care. And she'll be amazed at what a romantic dad she has! Once your DS future girlfriends here that story, he'll be kicking you for setting the bar so high!:)

I was a Seabreeze bride, but it sounds like the reasons I choose it aren't relevant in your situation. I was intially thinking of the Yacht Club Gazebo, but then I saw pictures of both weddings and realized that at YC, the guests would have to be outside the pavillion and potentially in the sun. I didn't want that separation between us and our guests, so that's why I went with SP.

We got married last summer in the Wedding Gazebo. It was a stunning and beautiful location. I really liked the privacy and coziness it provided. I originally booked at Sea Breeze Pointe, but heard how public it was and switched. The gazebo was what I always imagined an outdoor wedding to be.

The set up was beautiful, and there was a great path for me to walk up. There are some guest rooms that overlook the gazebo, but that wasn't a problem at all. It rained on our wedding day, but Rev. Tim was determined we would get married outside. He postponed about 20 minutes and had the guests' chairs dried off. It was a beautiful, sunny ceremony.

We saw ceremonies at Sea Breeze Pointe, and they were very public. I was so glad I switched to the Gazebo. Also, Rev. Tim said if the rain hadn't cleared up he would have married us on the covered porch of the YC. He said he's done that before. Although it wouldn't have been my first choice it would have been much better than having to go inside to a conference room.

Good Luck! Let us know what you decide.

We were married at the YCG last Saturday, and I have to agree with what some of the others have said. It is very cosy and intimate, with a true garden feel to it. The path that you walk down is just like walking down an aisle and I am so glad we got married there.

Also, to note, is that because of the garden atmosphere, it needed NO decoration. I walked up to SBP and noticed it was beautiful, but very bare and open.

The one thing we regretted was not getting a sound system, as it was hard for our guests farther in the back to hear.

Tiggerbride, that is my biggest concern. I too do not want to get married in a conference room if the weather is bad. Can you tell me more about other "covered" locations that may be an option for me if the gazebo gets rained out. Besides its beauty, the cover on the SPB was the main reason that I am considering it. I am not too concerned about it being to private. I am only having an intimate, so a few more people watching wont be a big deal.

Meranda, just out of interest what time are you planning your ceremony for ?

Sorry Meranda I know you PM'd me this and I've been real busy planning my big day as it's getting close.

Hmmm so 3pm yes I could see why you'd be concerned of a shower - although it has been hit or miss at that time of year from my past experience.

I think if you want the guarantee of having the ceremony outside and undercover then go with the SeaBreeze Point but have you checked for sure with FTW that a wedding will still take place there if it rains?

Meranda when I went for my planning session we had it in the room that would be used if it rained on our day - It was a smallish ballroom with windows and I know that if it did rain on the day Tracy my EM and Emily my florist will do everything in their power to make the venue pretty and wedding like, then I'll just pin my new husband down for a date for the VR at the same location ;)

Sorry I haven't responded. Spring Break (I'm a teacher). I don't know of any other covered locations around the Yacht Club. Maybe you could ask your officiant if he or she has an idea. Rev. Tim told me he won't perform a ceremony in a conference room. I'm sure it depends on what Disney says.

Good Luck!

If you are scheduled for SBP and it rains, they will move you to a room at the BoardWalk Convention Center. These are ballrooms, not conference rooms, and they are beautifully decorated.

They will move it indoors if it rains at any location other than the WP.
